bladeyIII4m Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 Hi there, just bought a new blade III 4m, for £225 complete with ozone lines!!! what a bargain!!?? Anyway, I am itching to get myself onto the beach for some air, BUT, the winds today are about 16-25mph, I am gutted as I think this may be too much, or maybe not, I weigh around 12stone?? I also have a bullet 2.5m and wondered if this was ideal for the conditions. Help me as I really wanna fly.....dont I always?? Regards Mark Quote
Tim186 Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 Hi mate, if i was you i would get your bullet out first and see what you feel like with that, if you feel over powered with the bullet, the blade will be a 50 times worse, if not then get it out but i would not advise going out with the blade at all today if its your first time as it will probably treat you like a rag doll, your best off waiting for a day will lighter winds Quote
neilj37 Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 I'd also be careful with the 2.5 bullet, as alot of people have been snapping the supplied 300lb lines in +20mph. Will be okay if you have upgraded them though. Quote
Tim186 Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 o and i forgot i advise you if you do decide to fly the B3 dont launch it directly downwind, launch it at the edge of the wind window, the flexifoil lines must suck then, i have used my ozone 180/110Kg lines on my LD in winds 21mph gusting to 34mph and i didnt have a problem at all they didnt even snap Quote
Blatnoy Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 2 B3III4m No its 32 right now... WOW !!! defiantly too much for blade 4m:( Quote
kitestuff Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 Yeah, 32 mph is a little on the "change your pants time" end of the windscale as far as Blades go... I'd start out in a steady 10mph and work up. That way you'll not be having to work the kite to keep it in the air, and you'll get a feel for the kinda power it is capable off... Definately stay away from gusty winds, I hate my BIII 4.0m in gusty winds! But I love it the rest of the time Quote
Steve1599968621 Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 Know how you feel Bladey! - Got my 6.6 Blade earlier this week and I've been sitting at the window with my bottom lip sticking out sulking all weekend cos of the 30mph+ hurricane outside. Got to try it in the week tho, just for a bit and i was getting lofted 4-5ft in 10-15mph gusts. Scary but very very good fun. Quote
