Get moving in a downwindish direction first, then carve back crosswind. That first downwind 'kick' takes out the rolling resistance, especially in heavy sand. And make sure your tyres are nice and hard if you're on grass. (40psi ish)

That goes for sand as well - the harder your tyres are the easier it is to get moving and maintain your speed and momentum..................it can make it a bit bumpy though!

Although softer tyres will give you more grip they do slow you down alot and mean you will need to be even more overpowered that you would otherwise.

It helps if are already used to the board - for example try riding on a gentle slope without the kite just so you get a feel for the board and balancing on it.

I assume your kite skills are already up to scratch as you buggy, so you should be able to get up and going pretty quickly!

Actually most boarders would use say a size or two larger than what the buggiers are using in the same wind conditions!

We have more rolling resitance than they have.
