neilj37 Posted November 16, 2003 Report Posted November 16, 2003 Will be moving to Aberdeen soon, so I would be grateful if I could get some advice on where to buggy. Are you able to use the beach ?? Quote
8015 Posted November 17, 2003 Report Posted November 17, 2003 Check out the SPKA website probably, http://www.spka.co.uk they have some meets at a beach near aberdeen which sounds pretty good (yeah, I'vew forgotten the name and I haven't been). JIM Quote
freez Posted November 17, 2003 Report Posted November 17, 2003 balmedie beach is the place in aberdeen to buggy, and it aint too far out of town Quote
peajay Posted November 19, 2003 Report Posted November 19, 2003 I was in Aberdeen last month and the flyers were down the beach front at the bridge of don end next to the road, was impressed with one lad boarding with a b3 8.5 very smart. Quote
its4all Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 there are a few different places in aberdeen that people go kiting. Most people tend to go down the beach at the bridge of don side (on the grass behind the petrol station). Some people go to Balmedie beach, behind the light house father up the beach, and at various other parks throughout aberdeen. Give us a shout when you get to Aberdeen, and we'll gladly show you the good, better, and not so good places to go flying Quote
neilj37 Posted December 4, 2003 Author Report Posted December 4, 2003 @ its4all I'm up in Aberdeen every week now and hopefully will be renting after xmas so I shall have my buggy and can make weekends. I'll drop you a PM after xmas and we can meet up if thats OK. Quote
whitewolf Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 Its all been said already about the grass by the river etc but there is also Cruden Bay about 25 miles North of the city which is a wider and flatter beach than Balmedie. Quote
neilj37 Posted January 12, 2004 Author Report Posted January 12, 2004 Had a drive around the sites this weekend but nobody seemed to be out kiting or buggying. Is there regular meets or do people post on the forum when they are going out? Would like to get out next weekend if weather is okay, be good if somebody could join me !! Quote
whitewolf Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 There isn't much flying at the moment, the best place to meet people is at the grass behind the Shell station by the Bridge of Don, I would come out except I am off out of the country on Thirsday for a few weeks, if you PM me I will give you a call when I return Quote
