  1. Balmedie Beach, Saturday 18th Feb, beautiful clean onshore wind, awesome fun, sadly perishing cold and my inability to read tide tables correctly left me up to the tops of my wheels in the North Sea, but as I say awesome fun.
  2. there are a few ATBs at Queens Links, also Balnagask, Im Usually flying a 4.8 Yoz, 4.9 B2 or the last few days a 6.6 B3, come an say ello
  3. I you want to take a trip to Aberdeen Queens Links then I suggest you come Saturday or Sunday afternoons as you wll normally find one or two of us there and you can beg a loan of a buggy, also a few buggy instructors fly here.
  4. There's nothing wrong with the Flexi Bug, I am using my one for the third season without any probs and I'm SLIGHTLY heavier than you, I certainly don't have the sensation of sitting "on" my bug.
  5. There isn't much flying at the moment, the best place to meet people is at the grass behind the Shell station by the Bridge of Don, I would come out except I am off out of the country on Thirsday for a few weeks, if you PM me I will give you a call when I return
  6. Its all been said already about the grass by the river etc but there is also Cruden Bay about 25 miles North of the city which is a wider and flatter beach than Balmedie.
  7. I have had just the same problem as everyone else in this thread except it has happened 3 times, once on my 2.5 and twice on my 3.5. I have since replaced the lines on the 2.5 wit ozone ones and will change the other set soon, each time the line has snapped just inside the sleeving, I was using the kites with my buggy and THINK that the wind was quite light at the time. Hopefully Flexifoil read their own forums and can investigate this "common" problem

    New to buggying

I personally fly the BII 4.9 with the Flexifoil buggy and wide tyres. I find it to be a beautiful combination, I weigh about 20lb more than you and find that in a reasonable wind the Blade acts as a combination of NO2 and an ejector seat - i.e so much fun you can chuckle for the while time it takes to heal up!
  9. I, along with lots of other people were unable to get a DaKine seat as the sole UK importer no longer does... so to speak. I bought the wipka seat harness and find it to be excellent, my only complaint is that I bought it with a hook and wish that I had bought it with a roller, as the hook rubs in the leash line and is slowly eating through it, so please buy one with a roller
  10. If you want to spend more than 10 minutes with it up ( and who doesn't?) then get a harness, I use one 80% of the time with my BII 4.9, I initially bought a cheap(er) one with webbing straps and having been dumped on my ass twice in quick succession injured my coccix ( or however it's spelt) and have invested in a wipka seat harness, which is the 3rd best thing I posess, soo comfy and ir is excellent armour for my ass, pelvis and lower spine. if there is a chance I will get lifted off my feet then I wear my seat harness as this is a very painful lesson to learn
  11. I have a Mitsubishi Colt with split rear seats and can fit my Flexifoil buggy in the car by removing the front wheel and swan neck, it is still 2 bolts but they are easily accessable and replacement Nyloc nuts are easily sourced from B & Q , a 17mm ratchet spanner makes it a job of a few minutes.
  12. having spent a couple of years living there in the 80s I noticed that the tide only came in when Bristol flushed their toilets. . . perhaps Toilet Duck would clean your kite better?
