daft mick Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 I have been looking about at jet technologies. This guy has made a kart with a pulse jet engine. Seems perfect for those "no wind" days. http://www.aardvark.co.nz/pjet/lhkart.shtml I like his idea. Had to be done. Any thoughts? Another chap is trying to set a penny farthing speed record. http://www.pennyfarthing.dabsol.co.uk/pulse-je.htm Brilliant! Mick. Quote
Mr J Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 Anyone for a game of "Spot the Loony"? Quote
daft mick Posted November 2, 2003 Author Report Posted November 2, 2003 Good game Mr J. I read other posts elsewhere on these forums about towing buggies with cars, Jumping stupid heights with kites and flying with big kites in silly winds. To be honest, most of us are not quite in fitting with the norm of society because we do things a bit differently. I saw these articles and admire their originality. As I said, it is a bit off topic, but hope it makes a few of us smile. BTW, Loony posted it in the first place. Do I win?? Quote
Atavar Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 Did you see channel 4s scrapheap challenge two weeks ago? they made jet propelled cars! one team made a pulse jet from scrap, the other a turbo jet useing a turbo from a lorry engine. may be somewhere on the c4 website, but i dont know where. Channel4.com/science i think?? Quote

daft mick Posted November 3, 2003 Author Report Posted November 3, 2003 I did see Scrapheap the other week. That is one prog I don't like missing. Hey Atavar, You coming to play again sometime? Wind today would suit your Bullet well. Mick Quote
nojjypoos Posted November 4, 2003 Report Posted November 4, 2003 Yeah i watched it too, and you guys didnt look closely enough to see that the guy who built the pulse jet engine on scrapheap was the guy from the website making the very loud and fun pulse jets. Also good for a laugh is this http://www.asciimation.co.nz/beer almost as funny, but its something to think about. Nojjy] Quote
