Hi all

I'm thinking of getting these Here and am wanting to know:

1.how much they are worth

2. will they upset the balance of my v-max with a standard barrow wheel at the front, what effect will it have on power slides ect.

3. will i need to get longer bolts

4. will they cause vibrating on hard dry grass/mud due to the large tread pattern

Oh forgot to say that i do all my buggying inland on grass.

Cheers in advance Spike

Hi

Have done that by way of pm but i wanted some indepedent advice, after all the guy is selling them and he is not going to tell me he hates them and they vibrate like a turbo charged "rabbit" when on hard ground, make the front wash out on turns and that is why he only used them once. So do you have any advice?

never buggied on grass so cant comment on that,

but the nobblies i got on my truck will shake your teeth outta your head if you run em hard ,they grip well but they will slide.

ive never had any probs with the front washing out .

like the man said you pay your money and takes your chances.

depends on how much you want em.

if it helps

Thanks Snake

Do you run knobblies all round or just at the back? If you run all round that may be why you dont suffer from the front washing out. What are your thoughts on this. Do you know anyone who runs big grippy wheels on the back and a barrow on the front?

Took a look at the picture, those look like big ATV tires - with a tread designed for pushing, not rolling/sideforce. Also looks like a mud tread - big, thick lugs... And they look a lot bigger than a std barrow wheel - back end would be higher than the front (might look cool but feel weird). Bottom line: they look heavy, and the tread looks like an odd one for use on a buggy...

Big nobblys are heavy and create alot of rolling resistance all in all slower will grip on grass etc, but u could spend more time out of buggy rather than in depends on kite wind etc. Also will you have enough clearance for your arms and various other body parts between the axles with them been so huge would hurt if you caught ya arm in them pulling a turn. They are going to grip well so front end ****ing its self could happen as quoted above biggys on back ribbed extra wide on rear is a good balance might be worth looking at hope this helps and has not bored you cheers.

Thanks all,

I'll have a look at the links posted. As for the weight, i thought it was not that bad a thing. Having heavy rear wheels will give me more weight out wide and maybe make it harder to tip over. Your comments on this ???? I had not thought of hitting my arm on a tread ridge and yes i guess it would hurt. If i fitted an extra wide front wheel would i need to put extra wide front forks on my v-max or would they fit on standers forks. Also has anyone had any thoughts on how much the wheels are are worth?

If you put big heavey wheels and tyres on the back with a standard barrow front , the front will be too light and not enough friction to turn your buggy quickly

.i.e the front will wash out all the time .

so you would need to put a wider tyre on the fron as well ,

I use kenda 401 18x850-8 not quite bigfoots but ribbed and large floatation foot print , works well on all but really soft sand

check this thread out

and they fit nicely on to standard barrow rims :D

you should really get a swan kneck down tube and wider forks if

you want to fit on to the front.

cheers

Thanks stone, you confirmed my thoughts about the front washing out. Would you recomend the kenda's front and rear then? and would i defenently need the wide forks for them?

Cheers Spike

yeah you really need the same or slightly bigger on the front to avoid washing out ,

if you have the same size on the front either add weight to you front end or I run my front tire at about half the pressure of the back , this seems to work for me , but things might be different for you ,

If you need a front end and swan kneck have a chat with tony from Square meter (you will need new forks at least if you have a libra barrow fork )

hi will sort you out good and proper LOL ;) :)

Those look like my rear tyres.

Got standard barrows on the front and I do suffer from the wash outs ven with a few less PSI in them. I am too tight at the moment to get some wider forks so currently looking for a flat profile trye so the edge gives me more purchase on a turn or even a different tread pattern. Neither will add to the weight to give the desired effect but hopefully a bit of compensation can be clawed back through grip.
