Whilst over in France recently, I spoke with some French guys who said a guy called mark from a shop in Leucate (100% kites) had a purpose built buggy and recorded a speed of 180km/h this year on a n 8 mile buggy beach!

Luk Stanek & Ely Chancy(SP?) both cracked 70mph this year on the lakebed at SBBB. there was a group of us all cracking 60-65mph all week

I'd not heard about Marks speed in france. We met him in Lecaute this year, he works for a very close friend of the Ozone bods, is a very good buggyer & was flying Razors last time we met. I dont doubt hes got the balls to get out when its real lairy but 180kmph!! FFS thats over 110mph, thats a a huge leap in performance over everything anyones ever done. not discounting him but lets just say I'm sceptical :)

Ooooooh crap!! s*** thats fast! but few inches from the ground and rolling that fast!! whoa. how were they measured? with the bike thingy?(don´t remember the name)

As Burgy says on a free run Luk or Ely hold the record at over 70 mph. Through a timing gate (far harder as have to hit the max speed at a certain point) the record is still as far as I know 52 mph set by Mark Kingshot at Berrow in about 1997/8 ish

As for 180 kph im with Burgy here I just find that so hard to beleive

I know mark quite well (best prices/discounts on kites ever) he claims 135km (83mph).

I raced with him a few weeks ago I flew my 5.5 Razor and he decided to use a 14 mtr kite of his own design!!!

I can vouch for the discount on kites, I came back with a fuel (13M), GXR (19.5M) and LFT board all new and for just over 1200 uk pounds! over here they add upto around 2300 uk pounds!
