Sili Posted August 16, 2003 Report Posted August 16, 2003 JUst interested in how you all get air, for myself personally, idont know if it has a specific term, (most probs does), but I like to run backwards with the kite swinging through the wind window in the opposite direction and then just get dragged off your feet into a huge turning arc of a jump Thoughts??? HiAsAKite Posted August 16, 2003 Report Posted August 16, 2003 Me four... best one are when there's enough wind that you put your kite at 11 o'clock, and then just bring it over to 12 and it gives you a boost offf the ground...... You need a fair bit of wind for that, and then the lower down you bring the kite befor bringing it back to the zenith thre higher you jump.. you need to need to be almost overpwoered for this... very cool though.. Hook into the harness and apply the brakes until it is as far down the window as possible without you getting dragged. Brace yourself, and then unhook from the harness and power up letting it shoot as fast as possible to the top of the window. When at the top of the window and pull is really strong, jump, and the kite will keep lifting you:) never quite got the hang of the pendulum jump, but that version works for me with my 4.9 blade:) Quote

Arran Willis Posted August 16, 2003 Report Posted August 16, 2003 i like to jump in good winds so i only need to move the kite a little bit and it'll just lift me. my other fav is to bring the kite down the edge of the window, then turn it around and keep it parallell to the ground until just before the power zone. u'll be scudding at this point and the kite will be really powered up. turn it sharply so that it tears up to the zenith but jump before it gets there. i can normally get massive jumps like this no probs. u'll be really overpowered when bringing it low acrocs the window but its worth it for when you jump later.
