Jo0lz Posted July 28, 2003 Report Posted July 28, 2003 Going well in the buggy regularly get to 30mph+ But yet to go down the harness route So getting tired arms after over an hour or so of BLaT-ing about I realise I need a harness with roller and a strop rigged between the handles... BUT... WhicH HarneSS? Recommendations please guys..........? Quote
Bonobo Posted July 28, 2003 Report Posted July 28, 2003 I got my Da Kine (Wahine) cos it was nearly half the RRP price (£39 bargain) from Coastguardkites. If you want a roller spreader then you can upgrade for £20. Strops are cheap but you could get away with a length of climbing rope (Custom length). If your not worried about price then loadsa peeps recommend the Maui Magic Darkrider, a lot bigger and more supportive than mine. The Da Kine Speed seat is also highly commended, I like the look of the new Peter Lynn but again your lookin at £70-£90 for all these + spreader bar on top in some cases. If you can get to a shop then try some on as your best getting the one most comfortable for you (All ar$e$ are equal, but some are more equal than others). Quote
BobTheRussianGarbageMan Posted July 28, 2003 Report Posted July 28, 2003 I was going to get a wahine then I noticed it was designed for women so I looked for a Dakine speed seat. They are definately a very good choice for buggying. The problem is they stopped importing them to the UK. I was determined to have one so ordered one from America at www.cleanlinesurf.com . It took 2 weeks for delivery but it was still cheaper than anywhere in the UK WITH POSTAGE! I got a reactor bar with mine which works nice with my PL strop. Worked out at just over £65 (harness and rector roller bar) with postage and they give you free stickers, magazines and 'candy'...I thought I got a good deal anyway. Quote
Bonobo Posted July 28, 2003 Report Posted July 28, 2003 Nothing wrong with being in touch with your feminine side you know, LOL!! Yeah I noticed that thing about designed for women, but it's not pink or anything so I reckon it's still a bargain. It's comfortable and works a treat. The nice lady at Coastguards reckoned she's only ever sold them to blokes so that was good enough for me. Price before pride!! Quote
fivefoothigh Posted July 29, 2003 Report Posted July 29, 2003 what size are you after my freind has a large maui magic aviator for sale looking for about £35 for it was mainly used for kitesurfing with but was always washed down with fresh water after use so apart from bit of unwanted seaweed in the velcro (does come out but bl00dy annoying to get it out) it is i very good condition what ever u get make sure it is a seat harness not a waist harness Quote

Jo0lz Posted July 29, 2003 Author Report Posted July 29, 2003 get some Tesco's Carrier bags and stick them together with gaffer tape...it'll be just as good ! LOL J Quote
fivefoothigh Posted July 30, 2003 Report Posted July 30, 2003 Joolz i am a 34inch waist and it is a bit too big for me it is not a problem because the straps are ajustable to my mates size 30inch but it just means there are straps all over the place you would be better off with a medium Quote
