playworker Posted June 6, 2003 Report Posted June 6, 2003 ...it's not even my fault, I ordered a 4m Buster almost a month ago but because the Busters are taking so long to arrive in the country I've had lots of time to browse these forums and to read all the fantastic reviews of the new Blade3 (see www.racekites.com ) and so tonight I was unable to stop myself from changing my order to a Blade3 4.9m. As you can see this is clearly not my fault, but how do I explain the sudden doubling of my kite expenditure to my girlfriend? Quote
Tom183 Posted June 6, 2003 Report Posted June 6, 2003 Just lie and cover it up somehow, a lot easier than trying to explain to someone who won't understand... Quote
bigrob Posted June 6, 2003 Report Posted June 6, 2003 It's none of her feckin business. You spend your money, she spends her - end of conversation. Quote
rasga Posted June 6, 2003 Report Posted June 6, 2003 out of interest why have you changed from a 4m kite to a 4.9m kite? i.e if you ditch the idea of getting a 4m Buster, why not choose a 4m Blade III instead for what reason did you choose the 4.9?. . . .as there will be another big diff in power. . . playworker Posted June 6, 2003 Author Report Posted June 6, 2003 I dunno Rasga, there's just something about that magic number 4.9... 4.0 just doesn't look as cool Seriously though, I'm aware of the power difference through reading these forums and I'm not even going to get it out of the bag unless it's below 5mph for my first flying attempt! ssxair sandman Posted June 6, 2003 Report Posted June 6, 2003 i think a 5mph wind would b a little too light, i've been flying in a 6-7 2nite, and that was only givin me a little pul, try 7-9 mph, it'll give u some resistance and give u more of a feel 4 it, turns wont b so drifty, and the kite will tend to luff less, as for the expense, it's well worth it...i dont regret buyin mine as for the g/friend , lie to g/friend, tell her you couldn't live without kite, buy her flowers (pick em from garden as now cannot afford to buy from shop..lol), or even better---teach her how to fly , i did that with the wife, now all my other flexi's arnt redundent. flyingdutchman Posted June 7, 2003 Report Posted June 7, 2003 my b2 4m can fly in friggin light winds as long as it is constant - when i first got my kite there was no wind (compliments of that guy named murphy) and i went out in about 4kmh (ok almost no wind) Quote
Legend Posted June 7, 2003 Report Posted June 7, 2003 Thanx Flyingdutchman you legend... Still waiting for my Blade 3 4.9 See you soon buddy Jonts Quote

Airborne1599968603 Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 Let her have a go - she might just like it. This of course opens up all sorts of avenues...well for a start you'll need one each...etc, etc. Quote
SpeedTwin Posted March 3, 2004 Report Posted March 3, 2004 Its even better if the mrs says "I'll treat you to that blade 4.9 if you like" marvelous on the down side she lets me pay the mortgage evry month.. Clive Quote
