Planker Posted May 13, 2003 Report Posted May 13, 2003 Can anyone tell me what a strop is, what it does, and how you use it? Thanks in advance, Pat/Planker Quote
Agger Posted May 13, 2003 Report Posted May 13, 2003 A strop is a connecting line running from the top power lead lines (normally although I have seen them on the brakes but that must take some getting used to), to enable you to hook in to your harness:D Quote
hrjones Posted May 13, 2003 Report Posted May 13, 2003 A strop is also what some of the less tolerant contributors get into just before they instruct you to "search the forum" I do not subscribe to that particular view point A strop can also connect a bar to a harness. Can be bought or made (using a suitable length of approriate cord/rope/string/etc). Quote
Bob Monkhouse Posted May 13, 2003 Report Posted May 13, 2003 .......... is what our lass takes when I shout at her for moving my new buggy out of the lounge and looking like she might scratch the luxurious paintwork when I clearly havent finished playing with it yet. They are best ignored and they go away eventually. Hope that helps. Cheers Bob. Buggy still has pride of place in front of TV by the way. Quote

Agger Posted May 13, 2003 Report Posted May 13, 2003 No I have seen them used for flying that way, it would be difficult to improve on the system most of us use to tether our kites to ground stakes. :D Quote

This loop then attaches to a harness hook. You can also get swivel-strops, which allow you to spin a flying bar to remove twists in your lines without having to unhook from your harness. Quote
