Adrena1in Posted May 12, 2003 Report Posted May 12, 2003 I've managed to get hold of some Freeboards...the road boards from the US with a coaster at the centre of each truck which allows the board to be ridden just like a snowboard. I've got two 100 cms boards for riders up to 140 lbs, and one 112 cms board for riders over 140 lbs. (Well, got two 112 cms ones really, but am anticipating keeping one of these for myself.) A friend paid £250 for one of these some time ago, and they're 200 dollars from the States, before postage. I'm asking £120 per board, but might be open to negotiation or swaps for kites perhaps? Go here for information and some wicked videos of these boards in action. P.S. The boards are brand new and unused. Even have the truck-tools and a mini-disk still taped to the underside of each deck. Quote
matt21 Posted May 12, 2003 Report Posted May 12, 2003 they look awesome, i'd take the other 112cm one for £110, cash/collect at Wallop? Matt Quote
Adrena1in Posted May 13, 2003 Author Report Posted May 13, 2003 Weird, my thread says two replies, the second by MartL, but nothing. Another spammer whose posts have been removed perhaps?! Good on you Admin! Quote
specificpig Posted May 13, 2003 Report Posted May 13, 2003 how are you getting on with them tim?? Quote
Outtacontroll Posted May 14, 2003 Report Posted May 14, 2003 Do they work on grass, i thought they were road only? Quote
Adrena1in Posted May 14, 2003 Author Report Posted May 14, 2003 Jack : I tried one of them for a couple of minutes up Butser the other day, but couldn't make head nor tail of how to turn. I'd had some wipeouts on the mountainboard from earlier, from going down the long ridge into the bottom of the valley, and on concrete I was feeling pretty anxious. Plus the concrete road there at Butser is a bit knobbly, which doesn't help for a beginner. I'll get there, hopefully. Outtacontroll: They have what look like normal skateboard wheels to me, (perhaps slightly larger than normal), and the coaster is pretty small. I think they would work[/]i on grass, but it would have to be pretty short grass I think, and hard ground too. Might give it a try some time, as I imagine I'm going to fall a heck of a lot while trying to learn. Quote
