Paul_bahn Posted February 16, 2003 Report Posted February 16, 2003 Unfortunately I've injured my back big time, the blade is far too powerful currently for me. I'm waiting on my order for the 3.5 bullet to be delivered this week, but now I'm thinking the 2.5 bullet might be safer given my position. I'm only using this for recreational flying no scudding or jumping for me currently. I need a good solid 'power' kite for a good workout not a crippling 5 minutes. Quote
Paw Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 Hi, Sorry to hear about your back. I have to be careful with my back too. I flew a 3.5 bullet at the weekendin light winds ( 5-7 ) mph, and found that ok, but .. with a small rise in the wind speed on a couple of occasions the kite did lift me off the ground, and I could see that in a 10 - 12 mph wind it would begin to seriously pull. I fly Little Devils for the most part and find the 2.1 gives me a good workout. With my back I static fly only and so I have kept my kite sizes down to under 4 mtr. ( I have yet to fly the 4.5 LD ). The question is how badly injured is your back ? I find the kiting helps me in that it stretches my back, but like you I am careful not to get toooo much air, but scudding is ok. Email me if you would like to talk more.. Paw. Quote
MadAndy71 Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 Might be worth trying the 4.5 bullet. Not as much power at the 4.9 blade but it can be cranked up a little by flying with slightly tighter brakes. Depends what you want but the 3.5 would be considerably less power than the blade you've got. Quote
