Mungo Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Fancy getting into buggying on a budget, have read some good things about Firebees. In my post Chrismas livery I'm kicking 13 Stone of beer and crisps. Is a Firebee 4.0 sufficient for my needs in 'average' conditions? Cheers.. Quote
Aussiewalrus1599968582 Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 i would have thought so. My 3m bee will give a hefty pull in average conditions, but the 4m would give you the edge Quote
Mungo Posted January 20, 2003 Author Report Posted January 20, 2003 Thanks Aussie!! Super prompt response! Quote

Guest eat_the_world Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 I have just got myself a Libre Special and already have a 4m Bee, so as soon as it stops raining here I'll let you know how good that is !! If you, like me, have a small budget why not get a NPW ? (Nasa Power Wing), they are about the cheapest you can get and are supposed to be good buggy kites ? Quote
Skud_Mark Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 The 4M Bee should be fine but again, C Quads are also cheap and pretty good buggy engines. I don't know what the wind was on Saturday but I started out on a 3M bee until I managed to dunk it so was 'forced' to pick up the 5.5! Get it ringed and they make pretty nice buggy kites to learn with. Quote
UshCha Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 As a Not Quite begginner (6 months) buggier and Wimp, If I look back, If I were a bit braver a Firebee 4m might be a better start than a 3m which is what I started with. I own a 1,2,3 and5.5(only Just got it). Starting in July last year the 3m was often a bit too small. The 5.5m as a start would be too big, it would severly limit the wind range flyable. The 4m would mean some days were way too windy, However a 2 m is relatively cheap and I did some buggying on that in the stronger winds. It will depend where you fly, I guess if your site is very open e.g. beach then the 3m is a better bet than the 4m Quote
tyke Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 i have a 3mtr bee and it doe's just fine. Not great in lighter winds, but i can't complain . It's given me hours of pleasure. But There are times when a 4 would be better.!!! Quote
Guest Buggiestflyer Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 I agree with Scud Mark the better option to a Firebee of any size would be a C quad. Ian Quote
