penance Posted December 25, 2002 Report Posted December 25, 2002 being xmas i seem to have found a sum of cash im very keen to start buggying i have been looking for a while and have decided to get a libre my question is -- as i have enough cash to get a Vmax, is that an ok buy for a starter? i rekon ill be more into speed than tricks! buggykiller Posted December 25, 2002 Report Posted December 25, 2002 if you want to go fast then get the v-max. provided you have a good range of kites. no point having a buggy that will potentially go like sh1t off a stick if you dont have a kite big enuf to pull it. if you only have a 1 kite buy a cheaper buggy and another kite. if you have a good range of decent kites then v-max is the way. penance Posted December 25, 2002 Author Report Posted December 25, 2002 i have a blade 2 4m and a razor 3.5 probably get something in the 6 - 8m range nearer summer Quote
buggykiller Posted December 25, 2002 Report Posted December 25, 2002 do you board as well? if not i would get rid of the blade and get a 5.5 and something around 2m (Ldevil cos it plays nice in the gusty wind) and then the v-max is a def going to do you nicely. if you do mtb ifind myt 5.5 raptor the best kite i have(/had) for bording so i would still loose the blade. penance Posted December 25, 2002 Author Report Posted December 25, 2002 dont board, but i use the blade for a bit of jumping loathed to sell a kite :/ maybe i should just get another Quote
buggykiller Posted December 25, 2002 Report Posted December 25, 2002 my best jumps have been with my raptor or big c-quad if you want a speed set up get a big race kite (then use that for jumping) BTW got my power max a couple of days ago. not used it yet but it looks the business Quote
penance Posted December 25, 2002 Author Report Posted December 25, 2002 cool, be interested to hear about the power max build with regards to my buggy plans, im not adverse to gettin more kites in the future seems possible that if i have the cash then a vmax is a good idea Quote
Peter Pan1599968576 Posted December 27, 2002 Report Posted December 27, 2002 A friend has a V-max. I saw it and had a go. So stabe. So comfortable. After a while bored the pants off me! I don't want to be in a buggy where there is zero chance of a OBE. No risk, no fun! Get a unicycle and remove the chain! Quote
penance Posted December 27, 2002 Author Report Posted December 27, 2002 horses for coarses m8 thanks for the constructive input Quote
gandhi Posted December 27, 2002 Report Posted December 27, 2002 No chance of an obe in a v-max? YOU ARE NOT USING A BIG ENOUGH KITE!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been lifted clean out of my supertruck with a 3.5m razor in 30mph winds!!!!!!!!! Get the v-max chap You won't look back. One of the most stable cruise machines on the market!!! And check out trick of th eye kites!!! cheapest source for the v-max and it doesn't even come through customs so chance of being rushed for vat! You never know, save for another fortnight and yopu might be able to afford a supertruck! Quote
penance Posted December 27, 2002 Author Report Posted December 27, 2002 power kite shop is doin the Vmax for 4 quid more than TOTEK!!! so ill prolly get it from there:) Quote

Ive got the vmax and have a powermax wide axle 1.5m and still get obe's and two wheel moments so you is not trying hard enough:D :D Al Quote
big_scot_nanny Posted December 29, 2002 Report Posted December 29, 2002 v-max is top notch penance, I got mine from powerkiteshop in the summer and its superb. Build is excellent (remember to tighten all the bolts now and again!) and it is tres comfy. I'm a big chap using big kites and its survived a good couple of very painful crashes. more than can be said for my right shoulder... ouch! It is stable, but then, I could get a pl on two wheels watching TV. Its not that hard to get a v-max on two wheels, haven't figured out how to do it intentionally though! Agree with all comments posted, if you ain't flipping it, you ain't trying hard enough! Quote
