Howdy all!

So, F-One Bandits: nigh on perfect kites, but cheap feeling, flimsy bars, no?? Appreciated, they get the job done, and are perfectly functional, but have never really been impressed with the bar build quality. Now the grip on my bar is falling off on both sides. Just wondering what kind of adhesive would be best suited to the job? Whatever I use to reattach it will have to withstand a battering of salt water, not sure if super glue is best or not. Any thoughts?

I found the problem was more to do with the alluminium bar than the grip or adhesive.

One of my bars did it pretty quickly and I was sent a brand spanker on warranty, I figured it would happen again so kept the bar and glued the grip back on with super glue, this worked for a while and probably lasted longer than from factory, but eventually it gave up. When I got round to changing the bar (about a year later) I realised that the alluminium of bar was degrading very slowly with the salt water etc. getting to it.

That's the bandit 5 bar, I'm guessing they have now fixed it with the newer ones.

That's very generous mate, but yeah, postage would just be too much. Thanks though. :)

They are crap hey! I've always thought the chicken loop release looks totally shoddy for a genuine emergency as well.. Really rate the Bandit 5 though, planning to invest in a couple of the new Bandits when they come out. If knew of a 4-line bar alternative I could use, I would buy that instead!

+10 to StormSure. Fixed my bar grip up a treat, and ended up fixing my pump, trainers, my tent as well with one 5g tube!

Lesson learnt: if super glue won't do the job, try StormSure!
