Yeharr Posted June 5, 2012 Report Posted June 5, 2012 YouTube will not load, blessing really, imagine carrying a sup down the beach at the Dale when the tide is out, Tried a sup way back years ago, but then they were called windsurfers and I used a canoe paddle, great fun for 10 mins, maybe 12 mins at a push, Mmmmm is it just me that thinks the sup is a bit big, and expensive, good on holiday beaches as a change from a pedalo maybe, that's it! It's a one person pedalo! Quote

It's a one person pedalo! The only time I've finally thought SUP was worth the bother was on a not so windy day at Rhosneigr and what seemed like flat calm. One person paddling out on a SUP and it looked flat calm and total pants BUT then he swung round and caught the tiniest looking bit of swell and rode the thing all the way back in. Finally SUPing looked like it might be fun. I like the look of the collapsable ones and possibly an inflatable one but OOOOOH the extra price! Ouch. I'd have to sell all my kiting gear to get one of those and that's not going to happen. Quote
mick Posted June 8, 2012 Report Posted June 8, 2012 Just buy a cheap old Mistrall 375 windsurfer and do it cheaper but could I ask a question. WHY? Ive, surfed, windsurfed and now kitesurfed to a degree, kayaked, canoed and rafted but SUPping? On decent waves then maybe but I'm not old enough yet. I also notice, primarily its the shop owner/workers who are promoting it Quote
