Spent a week near Pissouri in the south of the Island a couple of years ago in September. It's a good island for kiting with fairly consistent thermal winds every afternoon from spring to early autumn. I took an 8 and a 12 and flew every day of the week. The main beach I used was Paramali, but there are a few to choose from. Check out Kitesurf Cyprus on google.

I go to North Cyprus quite often, and going 16 April for a short trip. There is a kitesurfing community near Kyrenia and a beach good for buggying. Sorry prob not that relevant for you if you are going South and have no time to get over the border, but will send you feedback if interested. Powerkite forum may no more as they are international lol

You may find August vv hot, but if on the sea might be ok, but i wd stick to early mornings and evenings and loads sunblock. Soz cannot answer kitesize as dont surf, watch for jellyfish tho lol. Good breezes usually around coast

Google Lemmings kitesurfing club. You won't be able to surf or use the beaches there, but if you email the instructor (Ross) he will probably be able to give you some pointers.

Was living there last year and didn't take it up, wish I had. Learning in the cold uk now.

curium is a great spot for the SW winds...its nice and wavey..paramali is just up round the corner and is their "kitebeach" its down a dirt track but is easy to find and lemmings is inbetween the two at the army base.

if the wind swings round to the east then ladies mile is just brilliant...you can actually kite here in the prevailing west/sw winds BUT ITS OFFSHORE !

i went there 3 times to stay with family at akrotiri (?) ....took a 14-12-9 one year and used all three....second year took the 12-9 and got out 60% of the tims and one day i had of easterlies at ladies mile wished i'd brought the 7..

thermal winds so if westerly it builds through the day...i found if there was a breeze at 8-9 oclock it would build to 20+ by 2-3 o clock....easterly blows all the time...

one warning !!! do not kite in the red swimming areas marked by red buoys !! the various police outfits will collar you...

i go there every year but ive never kited ther as im new to the sport. i have never noticed it to be that windy, are you talking knots or mph by the way. at the moment i only have a 10.5 naish cult and was thinking to get either a 12 or 13.5 cult so i can use the same bar. which would you think would get more use, im about 80kg.
