Any reason you though 80 psi would be a good idea? Or just a test to see how high it'd go? Did the actual tyre blow?

One of the guys down the beach a while back blew his sidewall and there was a massive bulge of innertube poking out :al he still rode it back up the beach a fee hundred metres.

Well ive been running higher and higher pressures in my tyres for the last few years, they run soo much smoother. it was inevitable i guess. Though i have been on about 50-60psi for about a year with no probs. using primo alphas, blue, on old MBS 5 spoke hubs.

im totally getting a staro wheel for my wheelbarrow! oh wait i don't have a wheelbarrow :-(

Side effect of using tapatalk. Didn't notice it was in the landboarding section not the buggying section.

Never heard the expression buggys running on barrows?

Why the chuff would you blow a wheelbarrow wheel up to 70 odd psi?

Even 2.5 bar (35 psi) is excessive for a wheelbarrow.

I could understand it if the tyres were going to increase in temperature, but FFS, on wheelbarrows?????

just one tube, blew mine up the other day and 3 out of the 4 tube on my board leaked out the neck seal of the valve, bloody things.:mad:

There rated for a reason. :S

is there a world wide epidemic of old coots over inflating there wheel barrow tyres and blowing them selves up?

i think theres nut bags have invented A solution to a problem that doesn't exist.

The Primo Alphas are rated to 50psi on Primo hubs and 35psi on any other hub. I guess this is so they can't be held responsible for any other hub shattering.

I run mine at 50 on my Trampa hubs no problem. You are right that at a high psi they should be smoother and faster. Anything around 40-50 should be fine. Mountainboarders constantly vary tyre pressure to control speed depending on the run they are going to do.

If you want more speed and smoothness have you thought about nine inch tyres instead? Rather than blown tyres they should give you the smoothness you are looking for.

No just land boarders I feel.

@ Charlie. In management we have a request to subordinates. Don't bring me the problem, bring me the solution. This guy has really stepped up. Like you say, he's actually invented a solution without there being a problem. Now thats forethought.

I have actually encountered an over inflated barrow tyre. I got into quite a bad slide by the cement mixer and lost several facing bricks I was carrying in the barrow.

What a nightmare! were the bricks badly hurt? were they lost forever?

all you guys speaking of 50, 60, 70, 80psi, wtf!! why would you ever want your tire that hard for? your just asking for trouble unless you speeding along on nice smooth tarmac and not planning on jumping.. 20psi max!! usually anywhere between 14/18 usually depending of the beach conditions

the harder your tyres, the faster you roll, and that's how i roll!

Obviously not that day eh? And no the bricks were not lost but they were damaged to a point, we couldn't use them. Just expense and inconvenience. I now keep my barrows to a point where I can depress the tread with my thumb. But thanks for your concern.

That'll teach you not to blow em up so hard eh?

er no new board from ebay for an xmas prezzie, finally decide to inflate the wheels and they wouldnt inflate, on further inspection all the neck seals had perished , couldnt even get air into them.

cheap exit shit !!!!

And halfway up you met the bloody barrel coming down? ;)

Quick tip - don't use the air tool thing at a petrol station to do small tyres! Saw a guy trying to inflate his bike tyres in Spain yeeaaaars ago, it was going very well until he didn't take the nozzle away quick enough :p
