redmark Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 you only need a permit to landboard or using wheels Quote

kiteingcolin Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 Definitive answer please!? Colin's permit does specify kitesurfing, but looks like its a few years old. Old archive photo, for reference only, new one looks the same, last year was the first year that no warden asked to see it, only used Ainsdale around 6 times last year, shame as I really love the place, but the restrictions turn me off when I think ,"now where shall I go today" In my top 100 jobs worth people Ainsdale wardens do feature, sorry wardens, your not getting a Christmas card again next year! mrblack Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 the new permits deferentially say kitesurfing still , Quote

MooMaunder Posted February 29, 2012 Report Posted February 29, 2012 How does one obtain a permit? Is there a website link some kind person could post? Try Click me :-) you'll need 3rd party insurance too before they'll give you a permit. Quote
redmark Posted March 1, 2012 Report Posted March 1, 2012 i have personaly argued with the wardens on the permit regarding surfing and they agreed it was basically for wheels, as the sea is not governed by the council i think they just add it as a precaution. you definately dont need a permit to static fly, so when you are carrying your board to the sea you are static flying and once on the sea they have no restriction on you. thats my input btw there is a new sherrif in town and he is strict so if you are using wheels make sure you have a permit and if you arnt to sure on the kitesurfing rule just get a permit as they are free as long as you have insurance Quote
Andy C Posted March 1, 2012 Report Posted March 1, 2012 That may be your opinion but it is so not true! Permit is required for kitesurfing, just speak to the guys like Pooly, Carl, Luke Whiteside and others who have been banned for not following the somewhat over strict rules...! Quote
redmark Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 thats not my opinion its just a personnal experience i had with a warden who was moaning about me landboarding. so i said ok i will hit the water and quoted the sea does not belong to him and yes he blurted the bylaws ect so i just said i knew the laws of the sea as i am a member of the nw fisheries and maritime museum LOAD OF SHIT BY THE WAY he shut up straightaway and left me to it lol but like i said in previous post just get a permit they are free and will protect you from lawsuits if anything happens That may be your opinion but it is so not true! Permit is required for kitesurfing, just speak to the guys like Pooly, Carl, Luke Whiteside and others who have been banned for not following the somewhat over strict rules...! Quote
