The rest of us who took the lower route were all pretty close in the end and a lack of attention from myself put me down the rankings in the final 3rd. We could do with a few more kite crowd sailors taking part though for the next leg to make things a bit more interesting! Quote

Its a representation of real yatch races that happen at various times throughout the year around the world. Its the simplest game you'll ever play as the only control you have is the direction of travel and choice of two sails. The wind map changes twice a day and as a minimum you have to log in twice a day and check your plotted course. The race we do is the Clipper Round The World race which in total takes in excess of 12 months (real time) with legs taking around a month to complete. The challenge the game offers is in the stamina and discipline it takes to make sure you log in at 7am and 7pm EVERY DAY for months at a time. If that hasn't put you off then get signed up! Quote

Ok so my boats popped up 3/4's of the way along the route and I'm sailing towards the finish line but am I expected to go back to the start of the leg and do the whole course??? Quote

I'm thinking i'll turn my boat around and head back to the orange bouy, swing round it then head back to the finish line:) Quote

king.module Posted May 22, 2012 Report Posted May 22, 2012 cheers mate, what a difference a missing Big Daddy makes eh (lol) - was a close one that (30km difference in the end) - I really thought you were going to get past as you had the better angle coming in but luckily you ran out of favourable wind ... so what do you think to the new UI?? bit better i reckon... it's quite similar to the volvo race game (which is on again btw) - i played the volvo one for a while but those boats with the 'paid for' upgrades are so fast us mere mortals just can't get close... which for me takes 1/2 the fun away Quote
