XyOnGTE Posted May 17, 2011 Report Posted May 17, 2011 Im slowly making a transition from buggying to landboarding, be as it may i am finding it fairly easy except a few hiccups that im hoping you guys can clear up. 1) To powerslide can you do this on grass, i can do it confidently on sand but if i try on grass i seem to just grip too much and it either throws me off forwards or i lean to far backwards and just land on my ass?. The tyres are pretty much brand new on the board still got the rubber spikes sticking off the tyres does this affect it on grass or is it just my techinque? 2) What am i mean to do as i fly inland most of the time wen the kite luffs do i just turn downwind and wait for the kite to power back up and then steer back to my course? 3) What is my next thing to start learning riding toeside? any advice is welcomed cheers ( fly fixed bridles on handles) Quote
davo23 Posted May 17, 2011 Report Posted May 17, 2011 I'm fairly new to all of this as well. I do know that you shouldnt travel directly downhill otherwise you'll catch up with the kite and lose tension in the lines. I tend to zigzag down and up wind. I'm trying to slide on my board, but struggling with the insanely grippy tyres (MBS t3's have a lot of of sideways grip!). Might just wait until the grass is wet. Quote
PurpleMonkey Posted May 17, 2011 Report Posted May 17, 2011 Its all about applying the right amount of pressure through the heelside and back and front legs, well thats what it says on the Progression DVD, i find it difficult to slide on dry grass tbh, but by adjusting the weight distribution correctly it is possible. just keep trying. Batz Posted May 17, 2011 Report Posted May 17, 2011 Accept that falling on your ass is better than falling on your face. I do a lot of both. Quote
