surfdoode2 Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 Just bought a CKB lb20 but doesn't have a grab handle. I have been told that if I don't choose the right one it might shatter from flexing. Would you say it is important to choose the right handle and which ones would you recommend? Thanks, Mark Quote

heres jonny Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 First off, good choice on the CKB I've got 4 grab handles ... 2 from Paul at CKB, one kitedeck gummy handle, and a foam kitesurf one ... Most comfy, foam one.. Most pimp, CKB without a doubt Kitedeck one is heaviest but comfy too .... never broken one ... though not used the carbon ones much ... In answer, anything will do, you're not likely to snap one tbh, but a foamy one like trampa ones is probably the best ... if you can bare putting trampa goods on your pimp new CKB Quote
Afro1599968737 Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 the flexibility of the handle affects the board ride. if you use a stiff handle, the board becomes stiffer & less likely to bottom out, but over time the handle will break or the bolts will pull through it (i've done this) Quote
creature Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 I got a carbon ckb grab handle that Id sell if ur interested? Quote
surfdoode2 Posted May 4, 2011 Author Report Posted May 4, 2011 (edited) Alright, thanks for the advice. I think I'd be most interested in the foam Trampa handle. How much would you want for it? And also how far apart are the holes because I already have holes drilled 150mm apart and I wouldn't be able to fit anything much bigger on? Cheers, Mark Edited May 4, 2011 by surfdoode2 Quote
andrew pattullo Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 wot a load of b......... just make sure its a moulded plastic one the foam ones r shite! Quote
surfdoode2 Posted May 5, 2011 Author Report Posted May 5, 2011 What's wrong with the foam ones?! That's what I'm used to on my kitesurf board. Also the MBS handles are like twice the price! Quote
