Phizz Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 That time of year is approaching ... I am happy with my wetsuit and boots, but last winter i had issues with cold fingers - bloody painful! I was using standard Mystic wetsuit gloves. This year I want something a lot warmer, but also slim / flexible / good for kitesurfing / etc. I'm prepared to spend a bit as I feel it would be worth it. Can anybody recommend any gloves? Cheers. Quote
peet Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 ION claw gloves are very good, pretty thin, and pre-curved so your hands don't cramp up too much. The most important thing with gloves for kitesurfing is keeping off the wind-chill, so even marigolds will make a sizeable difference. I wouldn't recommend getting anything too thick, as your hands will get glove-cramp - which will mean you'd rather not wear them in the first place (steer well clear of diving gloves). Quote

Had Gul gloves that had stitching tear and went shopping for pair while warranty went through Went into the shop looking at the mystic dry gloves but was told by Steve that a few locals had actually returned the mystic ones as they were too cold and went for the Tiki's. Super comfy and everyone that uses them says very warm Hunstanton Watersports Tiki Surf Glove | Boots, gloves and hoods | Wetsuits Quote
thelukeandrews Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 never tried anything else, but these are amazing as you don't have to take them off to twiddle with lines or pick your nose. And if you decide you don't really need them, just pop yr hands through. They still keep the wind off yr hands which is what really matters. So unless you'll be wallowing in sub zero waters for hours they should be fine http://www.xlkites.com/images/400_GL1228_C_Gul_2mm_delta_open_palm_mitt_black.jpg Quote
Andy-j Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 wasn't impressed with the Mystic ones for warmth either.! quialty was good. I've been reading up on kayak forums to try and find reviews.. these seem to get a decent review and only £10 a pair. Review: Lomo Kayak Gloves|Solent Sea Kayaking Quote
Jay586 Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 (edited) I just bought a pair of the LOMO gloves and I've not tested them but they seem well-constructed and fit well. I've got various other LOMO bits and pieces and they are really good value and well thought of by canoe folk. Edited October 7, 2010 by Jay586 Quote
Jay586 Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 Yep, think so. Ones with Amara palms? Neoprene wetsuit gloves, diving gloves, sailing gloves, kayak gloves and dry gloves Quote
