lunaloco Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 Has anyone else noticed the Scientology banner at the top of the KC home page? I'm interested in ordering the book, just to see what their take on common subjects in life is ... Did anyone read it already ? What are your takes on this "religion"? Quote
L60N Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 Get the book, then begin your journey to meeting da aliens! Quote
Batz Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 LOL! Yeah the banner has been discussed. I'd be interested in a read LOL! Quote
lunaloco Posted September 6, 2010 Author Report Posted September 6, 2010 going to the book store later this afternoon to see if they have the book. I'm always interested in seeing their take on life. As with every religion, it's up to what you can make people believe isn't it L6on? ;c) Quote
L60N Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 As with every religion, it's up to what you can make people believe isn't it L6on? ;c) It seems that Scientology is trying to purport itself more as a self help program, rather than a religion: What is Scientology So where are da aliens in the "about us" page? "Thetan" thingys.. Quote

g_y Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 I've read it, its an interesting read. Definitely as believable as a virgin giving birth to a guy who can heal lepers. Overall would give it 4 stars Quote
neenaw Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 I'd be tempted to get the book to read it for a chuckle but I'd imagine that once you've had a copy delivered, you'll be stuck on their mailing list forever more! Quote

AND they need your credit card details to order the book (because you need to pay for it obviously) ... and we all know they like some good cash flow at Scientology ... Quote
beth1974uk Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 Loads of the books on eBay.. Quote

azbree Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 it was made up by a fiction writer 10 yrs after he said he wud make his own religion so why do people believe it Quote
g_y Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 why do people believe the bible? Quote
harry_a Posted September 13, 2010 Report Posted September 13, 2010 why do people believe the bible? hundreds of years of social conditioning i'm mildy terrified how far this pile of bullshit has come in decades to be honest! Quote
lunaloco Posted September 14, 2010 Author Report Posted September 14, 2010 hundreds of years of social conditioning same as with any other religion. The bookstore should have a copy available this week so I'm getting the book. I'm just interested in seeing what their take on life's issues is :-) Quote
tszy Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 Scientology was completely made up by science fiction author L Ron Hubbard. It is like so many contrived American 'churches' - it's just a scheme to screw vast amounts of money from the thicko's who sign up to the congregation. I wouldn't even claim that these people are brainwashed as that suggests there was a brain there in the first place. Don't give money to these scam artists - buy a kite Quote
RedSky Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 Ron Haubbard! Wasn't that the dude who did the music for the Commodore 64 ? ...sorry, continue. Quote
azbree Posted September 16, 2010 Report Posted September 16, 2010 comparing 1 of the major 5 religions born in different times to a sci fi authors own fiction is a bit far fetched jesus never said im going to make up a religion sum wat like the books ive already published its crazy Quote
Sammy1599968740 Posted September 16, 2010 Report Posted September 16, 2010 i think it founds fucking wicked!! Flying a spaceship and battling aliens! fuck yes! beats all these nutters paying to see some bloke in a bulletproof white van. I'd rather be known as a nutter who believes in starfighters and lasers thank you very much! Quote
kiteboysi Posted September 16, 2010 Report Posted September 16, 2010 to be honest with everyone why is a so called "religion"(cult) being advetised on this site. kite companys and kite related products yes, but i think that this should be removed from the site or can we have some of richard dawkins books advertised here aswell!!! just to balance up things. Quote
lunaloco Posted September 16, 2010 Author Report Posted September 16, 2010 it's a google ad banner so I don't think Neil can control the content of the adverts. To be honest, these Scientology ads are all over the internet lately, so I think they just launched a campaign via Google ads. Plus, the more we write about it, the more this banner will be shown (keywords, references, etc.). Quote
kiteboysi Posted September 16, 2010 Report Posted September 16, 2010 Best thing to do is not use the s word. so if i use the word atheist at lot will we get a banner add for The British Humanist Association Quote
