Blademeat Posted August 2, 2010 Report Posted August 2, 2010 Hi as it say's what have you used your go pro for other than the normal? So far I have, Put it on the bird table to get video of whats feeding there. (had some great shots) Stuck it on a stick and put it underwater in my pond. Used it while snorkelling. Used it to track a rat and a mouse to see where they were coming from/going to. (caught the rat) tied it to a dog coller. Used it to watch my dog going underwater in a paddling pool. Accidently left it on in the bedroom only joking on that one Mounted it to a quadflyer (4 rotor heli), Can now spy on the nieghbours lol. Used it to film frogs Used it to see what the dogs do when we are out. used it to look under the floorboards. And some kite stuff. Anyone else got some useful ideas for it or done some insane stuff with it? Quote
Cyprino Posted August 2, 2010 Report Posted August 2, 2010 Conceal it somewhere in the house, lead the missus to the room it's in, then make up a 'confession', possibly involving a particularly attractive work colleague? Then tell her it's all a big wind up and uncover the camera Quote
dreadycraig Posted August 2, 2010 Report Posted August 2, 2010 Accidently left it on in the bedroom only joking on that one Yeah, it wasn't left on accidently I don't have a gopro, I have one of the Veho Muvi type cams. Only had it a few days, so far I have stuck it on a RC car and driven it round the house (into the Mrs feet) and clipped to my jacket whilst out on my motorbike. Quote
ukspeedtraps Posted August 2, 2010 Report Posted August 2, 2010 Stuck it 50 ft up on a mast and did a 360 of the house.... Quote
Blademeat Posted August 2, 2010 Author Report Posted August 2, 2010 @cyprino cheers mate, I can get in enough trouble without your help @ukspeedtraps Good pics, thats a long pole you have lol:D I will put a vid up when i have flipped the image from upside down of my garden and next doors with the quad. Go pro are taking a long time to update the firmware to do this within the cam. Must be loads more ideas out there for your vid cams folks, Roll em in. Maybe a vote for best idea??? How do we do that? maybe someone can take over and do it. Quote
Blademeat Posted August 2, 2010 Author Report Posted August 2, 2010 Yeah, it wasn't left on accidently I shall choose to ignore you mr dready Quote

dreadycraig Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Here's a sample of what my Cam is like. The quality is a bit crappy, but considering it is the size of a pack of chewing gum it's not bad. I haven't had a chance to edit it yet but I have sped up some of the more boring parts. Quote
Spock Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 not got one yet, but when i do i'm gonna strap it to my buggy and take a 20 minute video of my left foot wobbling about. obviously it's a bit old hat, and arguably been done to death, so may do a few mins of the right foot aswell. Quote

If you're feeling really adventurous you could even put it on the headstock facing towards you! Quote
nudge1599968719 Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Made a mount for a 4 line kite and put it in the air......then got chased down by camera whores lol Quote
Flowlovva Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Nice....! Nudge..........Is it a rigid connection to the bridle of your kite or is it flexible? Quote
nudge1599968719 Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 its a rigid construction Basically 4 plastic tubes a block of hi impact foam I have cut out a place for the GoPro to sit in the foam I have then pushed 2 of the tubes thru the foam to mount it onto the frame, the other 2 poles are taped to make a "noughts n crosses" frame. The whole thing is attached to the bridle tabs with elastic bands to cushion it. The camera is held in place with a ball bungie. I will try and get some pix for you if you are interested Quote
