reef boots for the summer

Quick one, have you got any advice on summer boots that offer protection to your feet? (reef, see urchins, shingle..)

After a lovely and thrilling experience with sea urchins a few weeks ago, I doubt any shoes would stop them mofos from sticking their spiny, stabby little bastard arms into your feet and legs...

I am looking for a pair as it happens. I can tell you this much..... There is little to no stock left in the country, especially if you are size 9/10/11.

I ride boots 100% of the time. Anyone who rides camber will tell you it's very tidal and choppy, i don't see how straps are any better for chop, boots give you more control. I don't understand people who only ride them in flat water.

I ride them all the time, i keep telling myself i want a small strapped board for the nuking days but im starting to think i'll want my boots when the day i ride straps eventually comes.

 

You get a better slash/top turn on a wave wi boots on too.! It's like slashing a powder stash on a snowboard.. Loads of fun!

Only downside is you taste the wipeouts more! lol Oh and i cant ride upwind toeside in them. (care factor)

start with straps.. Boots aren't a great idea for a beginner.
