tommrics Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 Just get an Airtime one AIRTIME kite, Inc. aftermarket kite bladders one 50 inch strut with one U-STICK 9mm one way valve I think Tom at Kit it Right may have some, that's where I got my RPM replcement from. Or try Alex at Hangtime - I know he keeps a few in stock. Quote
Bigbud Posted July 21, 2010 Author Report Posted July 21, 2010 I've seen them but Its like £30 for one setup ? That's two new north ones Tom is trying to get me one, got the kite at work and I'm going to get the rest of them out at dinner to check them over and might even do the LE as well. The original strut had a hernia the size of a melon Tried fixing it last night with and old LE and an iron which was a bit of a disaster Quote

kitemare Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 I have loads of bladders kicking around here, let me know the length and what valve is on the end (one pump or one way valve etc) and I will be able to sort you one out easily. The U stick is good and we use them regular but for just a strut its very, very rare we haven't got a good second hand one around. Cheers, Peter Kitemare Company P.S. It will be really cheap too! £5.00 to cover postage and time. Quote

Hey Peter its as the little drawing above (My sketch) and its north so has a 1 way valve that you have to stick the pin in to deflate Quote

brassneck Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 result...... didnt want jim having bladder problems on our next trip...... could have been messy..... especially if it was the size of a melon..... and he had been at it with an iron..... ok... I'm done.... thats all my bladder jokes out of the way......getting my coat:o Quote
kitemare Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 Its in the post and you should get it this morning....The iron! What a nightmare that is to start off, it does take some practise! When I started Kitemare Repairs I practised with bladders and irons for ages, got it right and looking professional. On the first customer bladder, god knows where I went wrong but went to inflate it to pressure test it, it looked like a ring donut! I had stuck it together ahhh!! Had to cut out a section and stick on two large patches...Success in the end but a 1 hour job took me nearly 6 and all the stress that goes with cocking up someone's kite! Its still working to this day and I still see it flying! Will never forget the feeling as I pumped it up... I know where you are coming from, the iron sometimes is best left for clothes! Happy flying, Peter Kitemare Company Quote
