Kit Insurance

Hi,

Can anyone point me in the direction of getting insurance for my kiting gear?

At the moment I have it listed on my contents insurance but I'm moving house. My current insurance company want £150 more than the cheapest quote I can find but the others wont insure water craft or windsurfers or surfboards.

I don't want any insurance whilst it is on the water if break it. I only want it if some thieving git nicks it from the car parked on the beach or from the house.

How does anybody else insure their equipment? Can you just get kite equipment only cover?

Or do you just insure it with the cheapest company an then have the argument the only the board is watercraft but the kites aren't (then claim you are a landboarder only).

Thanks

Barry

covered on my house insurance. direct line.

think it may have even been the 'super extra' package that gives you stuff like, accident damage, burst pies, electrics etc,.... worked out cheaper than just adding extra coverage to a normal policy and gives £3000 cover in the car for possessions. (may even be £5000 possesions... I cant quite remember!).

I did phone them and specifically ask if kiteSURFING was covered and it was a yes.

just remember when it comes to your renewal date to phone them, cancel it and re-do over the internet as you cant get the same deal in the 2nd year... crazy but they all seem to do it, 'introductory deals' over the internet cant be matched for existing customers....
