dreadycraig Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 I sent off the renewal for my BPKA insurance in September. I haven't received my new membership card yet but I checked my bank statement and my cheque was cashed in Spetember. I sent an email to admin@bpka...etc but they haven't replied yet. Is there a better email addy to try or a phone number for them. The ban on my local site has just been lifted and I need my insurance card to get a license to fly there. Quote

dreadycraig Posted December 16, 2009 Author Report Posted December 16, 2009 British Power Kitesports Association any help? Thanks, but I have looked on there. I have even tried joining the forum to ask, but you need to have valid insurance to access it. @anne: I know they sometimes take a while as they get a backlog, so didn't want to hassle them. TBH getting the ban lifted has spurred me on to getting this sorted Quote
Mell1599968579 Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 Hi Craig, email me on feedback@bpka.co.uk Sounds like an address issue or PO problem. We always post before banking so that means that it was sent. I can send you a PDF copy so that you have proof asap. Cheers Mell Thanks, but I have looked on there. olo Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 I read most of the treads about 3rt party insurance on this forum and I'm confused now Can someone tell me whats the difference betwen SPKA and BKSA? Can I kitebuggy on the beach with SPKA insurance even when sing on the entrance says something like "You can fly on this beach only with BKSA 3rd party insurance"? I don't want to start in any events, I just want to be sure that I'm insured and got right to use place legally. Is it any problem if I use SPKA imsurance? Thanks for any help and sorry for all my spellings and difficulties Quote
flydad Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 Hi olo, As far as I'm aware, SPKA insurance will cover you for flying anywhere in the uk and overseas (a restriction applys regarding the North Americas) so long as there is no explicit ban on power kite activities at the location you choose. However, there are some areas in England & Wales where the local council/club have specific requirements before anyone can use their area for powerkiting, sometimes these areas specify only a particular insurance facility is allowed, not because any other cover has any failing, it is just a way of controlling access to known individuals. For tthe above reason, you'll have to decide where you're most likely to be flying, whether country wide or specific locations that may have certain requirements. Quote

coupe-se Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 Hi No i dont have any. I have just started in fact not flown my kite yet, just finding the ins and outs. Dont worry ....... you're not the only one without insurance. It is advisable if you plan on kiting near members of the public as accidents most definitely do happen. Not sure how many, if any claims have been made over the years. Quote
olo Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 Thanks for info flydad Just bought mine SPKA insurance Quote
