Hi guys

Im looking to buy a Board for my next purchase, i feel that i am ready to progress from static jumping to the Board now.

I will be learning in quite low winds, nothing over 10mph at first, i will be using the Cirrus 6m Pro Fixed Bridle kite and i will learn on handles.

What i need your help with is choosing a Board, i need something no more than 110 pounds, thats my budget im afraid, i need something quite short preferably, its got to be durable because im probably going to punish it whilst learning, i dont care about paintwork etc.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks :)

Or if you want second hand you can get boards very cheap of ebay now like this one:

MBS Atom 85 Mountain Board on eBay (end time 07-Dec-09 11:20:46 GMT)

you may even be able to get a basic trampa second hand for that money but make sure it is the right ply for you befor buying. This would be the best.

Well, all I can say is just keep searching the for sale sections and look for Scrub, MBS Trampa. As for what one? well it depends on what comes up for offer as there are so many boards out there now and my old memory is a bit hazy when it come to remembering all of the boards that have been made over the last few years.

But at £110 you will get a board that will help you progress.

EDIT:

TSP the Atom 85 is a kiddie board and might not take a 21 year old freestyling on it!?!

Please stay away from anything kitey at Argos :)

You will be limited at £110 but keep searching the for sale section and you will find the right board and while you wait for that board to come along you can keep saving up for a better board.

go for somthing second hand so you can learn on it and not mess it up. then once you know exactly what you need from a board you can make a more informed purchase.

On the other hand if you got a second hand trampa you possibly wouldn't need to upgrade.

It looks ok though, it has a review , for my first board also, if i by it i can upgrade my safetey gear :D, seriously though i bought my 5m exit from argos, it was a lifty kite lol, still is but my ace is my baby.

no seriously that board is a load of rubish. :D

Thats not what the review says :D Seriously though, im kinda reluctant to spend big because im not that well off. I will hold out to see if the same board keeps popping up in suggestions then that might be the one.

Chance are that this is the only board the guy has ever owned, he is not going to know what is a good board and what isn't. Look at the picture it dosen't even have any grip teck, thats how cheap it is.

Stay clear from any thing argos.

Jack Listen to what theyve been saying to you! You are 1000000000000000000% better off buying a second hand kite and board of better quality. If your not very well off dont buy new- 110 quid on an utterly shite board could be spent on a decent second hand mbs/scrub/kheo and even trampa. You WILL regret not listening to us mate.

DO NOT Buy that board it is NAFF!!

It is a cheap junior board, with no flex, so will either snap if landed hard or injure you.

It is made with CHEAP componates which rust or fail VERY QUICKLY!!!

It is a Rebadge generic board made for pennies with a MASSIVE mark up!!!!

Budget of £110?

Go for this one http://forum.kitecrowd.com/dealer-sales-offers/mbs-vixen-105-a-175095.html

Cant go wrong with that!! :)

Or Keep an eye out on ebay always some heap nice boards on there (avoid the Atoms if possible as not much better than the above).

MBS Core 8/16's cheap (any Core will do expect Core 1).

Scrub, Silver reefs/Furnace Creek/Red Rivers etc

Kheo Air-S

Dont get a JUNIOR board as odds on will not be strong enough or big enough ie narrow stance gap beteen binding post only suitabel for small feet etc.

Also watch out for anything described as "novice" as those to are often junior boards, only called novice by shops that do not know better as they are cheap!!

Yes check the specks with us lot, but dont buy blind.

Good luck, Jon

I have got an MBS Atom 95 which is pretty much as new. It has been out literaly a couple of times but left standing alone as the buggy is better....

I am after £75 plus any postage for it.

I am near Heathrow but could travel to meet if not too far away.

Give me a call on 0794 6449107 if interested.

The two prices above are great the Atom 95 you might out grow after a while depending on where you want to go with your boarding, the MBS Vixen was the Core 8 made cute for the ladies but the Core 8 in its day was a great freestyle board so if you want to go upwards with your boarding then get the vixen.

Anyway man can go pink now days! Cant they? Nope not me but JN are putting flowers on kites so do it :)

Yeah cool it looks nice, i dont mind riding pink, its quite pretty :D and i bet the Girls will love it.

So i hope its still there when i have the money,

The other one is a lot cheaper and my kind of price but i should take your advice.

I would be more than happy to pay the cheapest price i can get for the first board i find but now i dont want to lol, you scared me hehe but its cool, i should just get a half decent one, i will have a look on Ebay for the same models also.

I'd just hold out and cruise the eBay. Having done your homework look for ones incorrectly advertised. I got a Scrub Pro Series 90cm, like new, with toolkit, grab handle, Scrub rachet bindings and full stainless steel kit for £51 inc. P&P! It was advertised as Flexiboard, with a very poor picture and by someone new to eBay, but I knew what I was looking at wasn't a Flexiboard - winner takes all.

Patience is a virtue - good luck. I agree with the others too about Argos.
