DIEM Posted November 22, 2009 Report Posted November 22, 2009 They have elastic, what do you tie?.. Quote
mikland Posted November 22, 2009 Report Posted November 22, 2009 I can do one in a 9M Phantom. Does that count? Quote
bathy1 Posted November 22, 2009 Report Posted November 22, 2009 cant even tie a normal tie let alone one with a bow!!! Quote
The Geoff Posted November 22, 2009 Report Posted November 22, 2009 (edited) 13m Venom, yup Never tied the real thing though. I can, however, tie a chinese knot, four in hand, half windsor and full windsor in a tie, plus the reverse versions. There's 85 realistically possible ways to tie a normal tie, as proven by maths and that. I used to have a book on it. I love the way formal dress is going up here, it used to be a quasi-military jacket, frilly, faffy dress shirt, cufflinks, bow tie and kilt....like this http://www.thekiltstore.com/images/-%20Kilt%20outfit/l-PCBS.jpg But these days you can quite happily turn up a wedding in a ghillie shirt and kilt, it's quicker and warmer than slinging on jeans and a t-shirt http://www.highlandhire.com/kilt-ghillie.jpg Edited November 22, 2009 by The Geoff Quote
Afro1599968737 Posted November 22, 2009 Report Posted November 22, 2009 i've always been fond of the bizare little fact, that one of the hallmarks of western civilization is tieing a little noose around your own neck at the start of each and every workday Quote

The Geoff Posted November 22, 2009 Report Posted November 22, 2009 Love it (The dimples are far too big though..... ) Quote
DIEM Posted November 22, 2009 Report Posted November 22, 2009 Looks like a mini "scream" mask moulded onto a stool. Quote
DavidOps Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 One Lieutenant Colonel I once knew used to tear off and set fire to any fake bow ties he found at dinners he was hosting. I learned to tie a real one pretty quickly, honestly it's a fairly easy, just like a shoelace around your neck. Quote
Anne1599968726 Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 I used to tie my ex's for him, he was rubbish. Even with the instructions! I'd probably struggle to do it now though, but a half-windsor is something you never forget. Quote
