Bet ya this would be the first bleedin time they didn't charge you. Quote

flyingsolo Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 If they keep going in the direction they are going it can only be a matter of time before they charge per weight of passenger. Only fair I say! (at 65kg) if you do a search and look at some of the early passenger flights pre 1940's they did weigh the passengers . even then they did not let a females size be known. in those good old days of the 1990's it was free to take sports kit like golf clubs and skis now they are just screwing everyone for money Quote
wayne kitesurfer Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 Just got off the phone with Monarch, Going to Goa again in March, Booked extra legroom seats and Board bag UPTO 32kilos for £35.00 each way long haul. Same details as last year, i was 300 grams under last year:D Maybe Monarch Haven't been told about these new E.U changes? I've got my confirmation now, so i'm happy, i'll be taking, 3 kites Twin tip and skim board and harness, with a few bits thrown in my Suitcase. Quote
ice1599968754 Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 Guys for the last few years I have been on three hols a year to Egypt, lanzarote and turkey. Forget a wetsuit you don't need one! You cam buy compression bags that suck the air out. Roll each kite up as noral tighty as you can length ways then fold it in three. Put the two tightly rolled kites Into the compression bag and suck the air out with a Hoover. You can now get them into a ruck sack! I have a wainman boss 12m and wainman smoke 9m I take them on the plane both in the 9m smoke bag and put compression straps around the bag once the kites are inside to make it all look smaller. Airlines never weigh hand luggage at least they never have mine! Both kites only come to about 5.5k. Never take the bar I'm hand lugage! It sets of there metal detectors as I found out once! Then buy a dakine kicker bag, stick your board in the bottom in the padded bag that comes with it. Pack a harness helmet, bar about 5 pairs of boardies, exactly 7 shirts, two pairs of jeans plenty of socks and undies, your favourite flip flops, couple of daytime t's and toiletries. Where a coat or jumper out if you need one and any extra gear you want. What more do you need? My kicker bag has everything for week in it and never comes to more than 23kg! When it goes through the check outs they will ask what's in side. You say your clothes with a sarcastic type suprised look on your face as if to say what the f@ck do you think is in there? And they will simply tell you to take it to the oversized baguage area. No charge made! If you have less than the free weight limit they cannot moan. You never lied as your clothes are on the top. Ps make sure your pants are loosly scattered on the top and if they ask you to open unzipped the top displaying your undies to every one and tell them to help themselves. They will soon tell you to close it and pass it through. If you need more than 23k for a week or can't afford a couple quid to buy some washing powder for a second week if going for two then there is something wrong! Quote
