The initial complaint (link from appozone.co.uk to abw) is solved now. So I can't see any need for further public discussion of this issue. it's something between appo and abw. Morb has probably summed it up better than i can. and like you say Don't sensor the forum, I could go back and delete my first post and remove the whole thread, but i do believe a lock would be better (and i can't do that). let it die but dont sensor it. I hope these threads won't be locked or deleted as I feel it's in the interests of Kite Crowd and the wider kiting community to be aware of these issues, I also feel people can make a more informed opinion when presented with all the facts which will lead to fewer displays of ignorance in future. Informed about what? It's like a scrap in a playground - no other reason for getting involved than to kick the 'looser'. Two people with a beef with one another is of no interest to me and calling for wider awareness on it sounds just like stirring the pot and spreading negativity. Rasga and Luncaloco don't let this forum turn into a place where 'public' kiting figures only log on to see if they are being slagged off by anonymous people for kicks. Quote

So say you - I'm no stranger to this industry myself and from my ongoing experience in it, sure people hit on tough times, shops go bust, rogue traders emmerge and vanish but it's hardly a crook fest. In fact I wouldn't even call it an industry, it's more of a bubble and so far it's managed to self regulate itself pretty well without people stirring up huge shit storms. I read your thread with interest on your Dahab experience - that guy who sold you that trip I would hardly call a representative of the kiting industry any more than the bloke who flogs a 16m LEI with no safety to a beginner on eBay. I certainly would never call him a public kiting figure. I'd say the kiting industry / bubble is on the whole a decent and friendly place, even if it does take a while for some things to get sorted. It certainly doesn't need this type of mud slinging and pot stirring. The people leading the sport are decent folk who want to make a living doing something they love doing. One quote I think sums that up nicely was from Jurgen, the boss of HQ Powerkites who often says "Life's shit enough as it is. That's why we make colourful kites". Leave the shit throwing and negativity out of it - if there is something genuine to say, post a warning about it in the proper fashion. That's how it's always worked in the past. Nicki god bless her was right about four pages back - kiting should be about fun and not all this mess. Quote

THAT was the initial complaint of the thread. ABW has taken the redirect off. Issued solved. Whatever grieve there is between appo and ABW ... it's up to them if they want to solve it. No, I'd hardly call the bloke who sold me the Dakhla trip a big player, but he's got an impressive website and list of links and contacts, advertised on the forums too, and yet it took a little bloke like me to expose him. So much for the industry regulating itself eh? I think I'll trust the little people of the world thanks, not the Big Business,Vested Interests/Governments etc. Quote
