RALKITE Posted May 27, 2010 Author Report Posted May 27, 2010 our main help and local contact is Nicolas from Zeeko kites, and we will probably be getting down into spain which looks to be only a hour or so drive. But we do need some expressions of interest . Quote
plummet Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 i'm going to the french alps this year in aug. alas not with a kite but with my mountain bike..... oh yeah. and a bunch of my best buddies. international man holiday. epic. Quote
Guvner01234 Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 Im living up in britanny (NW corner) at the moment, been here since start of april. I would likely be interested in a trip down there next summer if your organising one. The wind seems good up here during spring but im guessing its going to be dying of soon as there doesnt seem to be enough land mass and heat for a decent seebreeze when gets hot. Down south should be better. Quote
SoutherlyBuster Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 Funny when I mention kite surfing Fiji to my wife I get a blank look or the usual no comment, huh you said some thing dear? (I'm not having a dig at the Fiji tours Tony, they really do look great). I then mention kite surfing in France and my wife pops up says straight away that would nice. Only problem is cost. I'm guessing even if the venue is reasonably priced the air fares will kill it. Norman Quote
RALKITE Posted May 28, 2010 Author Report Posted May 28, 2010 Not only airfares, but it is their summer and high tourist season. So price wise it won't be for the faint hearted. But as you have discovered, a lot easier to interest the wives being a couple of hours drive from spain and Italy, on the french med coast. The first trip is really one My wife and I expect to go and check out the whole thing, and then have a much smoother trip the following year. Those keen to be part of the exploration are most welcome, but Others may wish to start saving for the following year. Quote
sir lancelot Posted May 31, 2010 Report Posted May 31, 2010 But as you have discovered, a lot easier to interest the wives being a couple of hours drive from spain and Italy, on the french med coast. And this is exactly why I may not be able to make the Fiji trip... maybe France next year is a safter bet Quote
