smegg1 Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 Looking to get Married in Mauritius, spending the first week on the West coast(Flic en Flac), but open to more locations on the second week. My wifey to be is more than happy for me to take my kiting gear (encourage actually, she know I get twitchy on a beach with nowt to do!). Just wondering where to go in September/October for the second week? Currently ride a 140 twin with a 10m Pulse & 7m Enova2 on flat and choppy 2ft waves at most. Can do basic heel/heel transitions but not much more. Looking at Le Morne, but could be a little too advanced for me. Not sure on the other areas, as up north would be offshore on the trades? Thanks! mark o Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 For your second week hop on a plane and transfer (if you are travelling with Air Mauritius this could be a free internal transfer) to Rodrigues and stay at the Maurock Ebony hotel... fantastic location. Quote
bucski Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 Go to Le Morne, fantastic location. Stay in the Indian Resort, its right on the kitebeach. I got a great deal through lastminute.com The area is good for all levels. Round the corner there is an area where the kite schools are and its totally flat and waist deep. Then move around the point and you can play inside the lagoon or venture to the edge of the reef for the waves, which are superb. Some nasty currents about towards the edge of the reef sometimes, check at the mistral centre before you venture out. Quote

Our other option is leaving it till January and going to Playa Del Carmen in Mexico. Bigger resorts, seems a little less personal but certain needs in the party mean we are finding Mauritious options limited! Quote
smegg1 Posted January 22, 2009 Author Report Posted January 22, 2009 Looks like our second week will be up North. Anyone experience the area? http://www.mauritiusurf.com/ Quote
