debster Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 Hi All Thought maybe someone on the forum could help me with a small problem I'm having. I've been taking my nephews out kite flying with me ( they are 7 and 13 ) and now they are hooked I thought I might fill in the down time when the wind has disappeared or it's raining by making a couple of kite bags for them but I can't seem to find a source for the materials. Some kind of heavy weight nylon or cordura, mesh, nylon thread etc. Does anyone have any idea where I can get the materials from ? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers Debbie Quote
Goz Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 Andyfly might be able to help you out with sourcing some cordura or nylon for your bags try sending him a PM Quote
debster Posted March 1, 2010 Author Report Posted March 1, 2010 Thanks Goz I'll Give him a try Debbie Quote
Goz Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 He may be able to help you finding a source seeing as he gets heavyweight cordura for the buggy side rail covers and GPS holders he makes. Quote
goshen Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 hi; i just saw this post... we've got some red/blue/black bag material/cordura lying around at Kitepower, in Geelong. Call for details: (03) 5229-5899. Quote
David M Posted July 25, 2010 Report Posted July 25, 2010 I bought some ristop material(the same stuff as the kites are made of) from Spotligh t Quote
KaoS Posted August 1, 2010 Report Posted August 1, 2010 I bought some ristop material(the same stuff as the kites are made of) from Spotlight IIRC the Spotlight ripstop isn't coated with the firm finish that kite fabric needs. It is soft, much more like balloon fabric. But this makes it ideal for ground bouncers, and some larger line junk. This is a bol I made with Spotlight ripstop around 6 years ago Kevin Willunga, S.A. David M Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 I agree with you on it being a lot softer than the actual kites but it a good material for a kite bag IMHO Quote
