zuolei Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 Is BLADE IV weaker than BLADE III on lift force? Quote
MatJ Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 There are some who will say it is, and some who will say it isn't. If anything it might be fractionally less lifty, but it's a LOT nicer to fly. Far smoother, more stable, and all round a much better kite. Quote
Kite Kid Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 theres a hell of alot more hangtime on the 4s then there is on 3 check out brighton kite jump extreme on youtube to see blade 4 in action. Quote
B-Roc1599968665 Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 Anyone know if the triple A kits still available to fit on a BIII? I don't see them on the flexi site. Quote
Kite Kid Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 i think so but u can only fit them to blade sizes 6.6m upwards Quote
hankster Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 blade II is the liftiest foil out of the 4 different blades hence it being called the widower,i've had one and it was so unpredictable caught me out too many times then it was my 2nd powerkite. Quote

Peety Posted November 28, 2008 Report Posted November 28, 2008 I tried a III in average winds and thought it was ****, no offence to flexi, in something like 15mph, i went higher on my twister than that. I want to have a go of a IV, but next year, for my b day, im getting a V, if its out, no matter the cost! Quote
slide Posted November 28, 2008 Report Posted November 28, 2008 Is BLADE IV weaker than BLADE III on lift force? ......on the bladeiv the power comes in slightly softer at the start, but it is still very much a lifting machine- it is more refined than the III ...to say a twister is better than any of the blades is complete rubbish -i have II's III's and IV's , and they are all fantastic kites-(all just a little different)...the II's still kick arse today -if ya know how to jump try a 4.9 II, they may be 8 years old ,but they very much put a smile on ya face:) Quote

Two, do you remember those "it must have been 30mph" claims? When the weather reports showed 16.1mph? Because I do. Quote
c quad madness Posted November 29, 2008 Report Posted November 29, 2008 oh here we go, a peety thread. greeeat (i mean that) Sits back and waits to be ammused Quote
blade3k Posted November 29, 2008 Report Posted November 29, 2008 nothing compares to the first blades..the colourful, unpredictable, red rucksack ones! 2.6 all the way! Quote
conor Posted November 29, 2008 Report Posted November 29, 2008 the 2.6 is a beast. So is the blade ii 2m. Quote
wenglish Posted November 29, 2008 Report Posted November 29, 2008 i like teh blade 3 4.9 its a fun kite to fly but yeah the hangtime on the mk4 is better. the mk4 is more refined and less prone to hand you your ass though it still tries its best and does a good job at it. Quote
Peety Posted November 29, 2008 Report Posted November 29, 2008 Im not saying in 30mph you dip s***, im saying in 15mph!!!! The twister is a better suited kite in that wind, it has a lot more pull and lift IN THAT WIND! and f*** whatever you lot say its true Quote

MatJ Posted November 29, 2008 Report Posted November 29, 2008 You know, Peety, I'd like to meet you someday. Ever in Edinburgh? Quote
flysurfer1080 Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 Yay, Peetys back I had the III 8.5 & that was one huge kite, hang time was insane but was so slow through the window, but would you want that kite fast.. I reckon Peetys SPECIALIZED twister would beat the lift and hangtime of the 8.5.. :/ Quote
Peety Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 You know, thats what it must be! My twister must be a sort of hybrid thing crossed with a blade! WHO KNOWS, if the twister is so bad, mine isnt thats all i can say about it. Anyway i was dissapointed with the blade III, it was ****, but it was the 4m so... Quote
c quad madness Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 I don't think anyone way saying the twister is bad. It realy isn't in the same league as a blade 3 as far as lift goes tho m8 this is fact I'm afraid, no amount of swearing or shouting at people will makes anyone think otherwise. Quote

PieGuy Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 if the twister is so bad, mine isnt thats all i can say about it. Curious now, who said the twister was bad? Your trying to defend a kite that nobodys actually made reference to, in a thread which has nothing to do with the kite your talking about? Quote

Your trying to defend a kite that nobodys actually made reference to, in a thread which has nothing to do with the kite your talking about? That's Peety!! God only knows what he'd say if we told him a Twister is a kiddy learner kite that no respectable seasoned flyer would even entertain flying unless it was gale force 9. (this is NOT my view just a scenario that would probably make Peety explode). Quote
windy Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 Peety dude, with all due respect, please. WIND YOUR NECK IN!!! lol. You are obviously entitled to your opinion, (even if it's wrong, like in this case) but misinformation and under/over estimation regarding a kites power/handling etc, is not a good idea. I've owned the complete range of Blade Is, IIs, and i;ve owned some of the IIIs and Ivs, i've also flown the twister and although it's not a bad kite and pretty good value for money, it simply does not have the size for size equivalent power of any incarnations of the blade range.
