m.klinge Posted November 22, 2009 Report Posted November 22, 2009 Hiya So I was wondering if anybody have any comments on the new Hd Hero? I was wondering if i should put this on my wish-list for x-mas I would like to use it on the board - like padlers or kitesurferes does, but im abit unsure if the short board result in movies of just my hairy legs Anybody has tried a hero (Of any kind) on a landboard who can tell me if it works //M Quote
jhn.holgate Posted November 22, 2009 Report Posted November 22, 2009 I'm thinking of one of these myself. There are lots of videos taken with the gopro wide and the HD version on both vimeo and youtube - just search for GoPro Hero or GoPro Hero HD and you'll find a shirt load of vids taken from just about every conceivable angle and placement. I particularly like the fact that these cameras are already in a sturdy waterproof casing, so I can take one down to the beach and not have to worry about sand and crud getting into it. For the extra $120.00, the HD version looks like it's well worth the extra. They should be due in stores any day now.....so I'm told! You should easily be able to mount one on the front end of the landboard too. PS: I think there's a few videos taken from the front of skateboards on youtube. Quote
m.klinge Posted November 22, 2009 Author Report Posted November 22, 2009 Yea - well i havnt been able to google any video's shot with a hero on a landboard, a snowboard, kiteboard, bike, gocart anything but a landboard - hence the question I know that i would be able to mount it on the board - but its not the problem, the problem is if the video shot with it would do any good due to the fact that a landboard generally are short compared to most other boards - meaning its closer to the feet Other than that i agree - i think it would be well worth the extra $ to get the HD //M Quote
jhn.holgate Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 Hmmm, don't think I've seen one on a landboard either. This is the video that came to mind: http://www.goprocamera.com/video_popup.php (scroll down and click the 'Downhill Skating Legends') It's a couple of dudes on skateboards with cameras mounted in various locations - helmet, both ends of the skateboard. It's the standard def camera but it may give a reasonable approximation of a landboard....maybe. Haven't looked at the two types of boards closely so I might be talking a lot of dribble. Worth a look if you haven't already seen it. Quote
