Anyone interested i'll be camping with the family in our usual spot and will be going to Elliot Heads anytime between the 28th Dec and 5th of Jan .

After not getting out for a fly for about 2 weeks things are finally looking up. Low tide is 4:58pm and wind is predicted to be 10 to 15 knots SE to NE time to hit the beach at Bangalee and go for a run in the buggy.

Kites and Kids Something for the kids over the school holidays Over the Christmas School Holidays this year the Whitsunday Kite Club will be holding FREE ‘Learn to fly a kite’ sessions at Conway Beach. Kids from 7 years old and over are welcome, younger ones will need some help from mum or dad, all kids must be accompanied by an adult. There will be a strictly limited number of places available, and Bookings are essential. The sessions will run for Two Hours, and will cover setting up, launching, flying, landing, and packing away a kite. Those kids that already have their own kite are asked to bring it along to use, and those without a kite will be able to purchase a kite from the club at cost price. The kites are being supplied by Briskites, one of Australia’s leading kite sport shops. They will be very suitable for young kids, they will withstand many crash landings, and will last for many years. They start at around $45 and the most expensive kite will be $65 and suitable for the older kids. The only requirement is that the kids have their own kite to use. The Kites will be available for purchase before each session, those wishing to purchase a kite will need to book early so the kites can be pre ordered and be ready on hand for the sessions. Bookings should be made at least two weeks before the session date. The Whitsunday Kite Club is a not for profit club, we do not profit from any kite sales or lessons, we simply want to share the love we have for kite flying. Depending on the weather there will also be kite buggy rides for the kids, they must have a helmet, glasses and closed in shoes to ride. Hey guys! I'm a swedish guy now working in Brisbane and I'm wonder if there are any good spots in SE QLD? I have a Naish 9 sqm and a 16 sqm back in Sweden which I intend to send down here. Would you recommend either one or both? Got a car so I'm happy the get a session if somebody is up for a surf.. (when i got my gear that is) Cheers Johnny

SEQKA (South East Queensland Kitesurfing Association) are also putting together a Club ride day and demo day on on the 8th/9th of November. I think they will also have a couple of comps with some giveaways/prizes, open to all ablities All the local stores should be there with our demo gear so there will be lots to try and compare. I'll be there with Ozone, Cabrinha, Underground and Slinghot and possibly some land gear too if i manage to get a team rider by then.. But again its all here for you to try when ever you like. G'day all If there are any fellow kite buggiers here in brissy interested in a run up on bribie this arvo ?- I thinking about going up - the winds are "supposed to be NE thi arvo -if the forecast from webist is correct (???) Anyway its been too long since I have been on a buggy run & my bearings have probably seized completely by now. If I recall correctly there is the kite festival up at Coolum this weekend - so hoping it might be quiet on bribie.... if any one has better info than me on the current /expected wind conds pls let me know :-) rgds KitebuggyKev

Hi All, I will be taking of one of either tomorrow or Friday to head to Bribie for a session. So far tomorrow looks fairly insane and Friday a little more moderate. At the moment Spitfire is sitting at a steady 28kts SE with 20-25 S/SE predicted tomorrow and 15-20 S/SE on Friday. So any takers and which day? Tom

It's warming up ... so it's time for those of us (namely me) that did not HTFU through winter to face the fact that there are no oooooooooooooooooo longer any excuses not to get wet. Kitesurf time !!!! It is my goal this Summer to turn as many of you SEQ "Landcrabbers" into Amphibians. Now in this golden town of ours we have 3 main courses to select from, Brighton/Sandgate Wellington point Redcliffe peninsula To start ..... If you wanna have a good laugh .... eat a little mud ... and get up close with a jelly fish or 2 then Brighton is the place for you. Brighton has it all .... running water ... BBQs .... I am planning a road trip down south and have a day that, if there is any interest, i could drag my buggy down with me and meet up for a fly or three. Expected date and location Yeppoon Sunday 21st September Could this become the first ever Queensland wide buggy meet? i am trying to twist my wifes arm into letting me drag the buggy along, and if i have a good enough reason, like a state wide meet, them i stand a look in. your thoughts please. peter

Hello peoples, i am heading to townsville on sunday 20th july, and return the following friday night. i am interested in catching up with any kite flyers in and around the townsville area. i am also interested in searching out land kiting venues, beaches, dry lakes, paddocks, parklands, if you think its worth a look, and a fly, let me know. can you fly a kite on castle hill???? i'm going to find out!! I'll be staying at Rowes Bay Caravan Park, Cabin #4, and will have a great view of the afternoon kitesurfers from my cabin window, but would prefer to be flying a kite than watching. Peter

Held at Murrarie, just north of the Gateway bridge. More of a single line/ sports kite event. Not a bad buggy spot on my one go there.

Hi All, With today completely washed out but the wind going strong I was wondering if anyone is up for a saturday or Sunday session. Bribie looks like it may stay moderately wet however the gold coast looks to be relatively dry with only the odd rain patch. Any takers, I am contemplating either heading to Kingscliff or the park at Main beach. Cheers Tom

Right in the backyard this weekend and the weather is looking pretty good for em. Steady South easterlies, straight in. high tide mid morning over the weekend and low tide 3 ish. Got fingers crosses as this is a great area to highlight all aspects of kiting. Could mean big an better things in the future.

ok , on behalf of BRISKITES: we are having another day at bribie sunday the 16th ,low tide is 1200 hours midday, there will be demo gear available, so bing your ,buggys, landboards ,kitesurf gear ,or just yourself as there will be gear to try, if you need ride meet at briskites at 930am or call jason or mike (jason@shop, mike on 0415484866) .if wind NE we will be at the bunker, SE skirmish point ,keep an eye here for postponment sunday morning look forward to seeing you there. all the best wolife:D:D
