After seeing powerkiting on the extreme sports channel I decided to take it up.
So after about a weeks reading I was thinking to go for the Flexi Bullet 2.5..
Being me, I went for the 3.5 just for the extra grin factor, Nice bag, representing the great quality of the bags belongings. All colour coded, and the pre stretched lines were heaven sent, and very easy to set up for a first timer, I was tempted to go for a radsail pro 3, but the flexifoil 4 week guarantee just won me(which I didnt need
).
My first flight with the 3.5 was in 8 mph winds and I was coiling out some good 15 foot scuds on soggy marshy grass, not knowing how to tic tac. my second day was on a high tide hard sand beach in Paignton in 25-30 mph winds, bad idea, It felt like I was trying to hold onto a bus in motion, I got lofted off my feet, landed on my face, rolled up and decided to get a smaller kite.
The Third flight was in very low winds, 1-3 mph, and had trouble keeping it in the air, but when the wind picked up a little it was great fun, I'd say the 3.5 is a good beginner kite, providing you keep out of them heavy days, I learned the hard way I guess. The bullet being my first kite I have nothing to benchmark it up against, but I love it, and It's getting me through my early days. I'm tic taccing now and find it a great larf.
Overall, I'd say the kite could have been cheaper, but from the original foil manufacturer what can you expect. Still, happy I didnt go for the radsail pro 3.0.
As my kite collection grows, more reviews coming from me.
