Myron, Thanks for your observations. I'm assuming your wounds have healed by now. In your signature you say "former battered... Kitesurfer XL user". Where you actually using this smaller XL version or did you have the XXL? I have been static flying foils for about a year now, and actually only purchased this foil as a low wind buggy engine, and for winter skiing. It is like new (crispy) and probably didn't cost me much more than I would have paid just to purchase the quad lines that were included with it. Which are also like new. I'll be camping very near a beach on Lake Ontario in July and since I have access to a board, thought I would give kiteboarding a go. After mastering the foil of course, maybe doing some body dragging in the water. If I decide afterward to get serious, then I'll look for updated gear. I've had success using an Airrush bar with 3 different foils now and weather permitting tomorrow will try setting it up with the XXL. This bar has enough built-in safety releases, but if I must use handles then I do also have a quick release spreader bar just in case. Thanks again Vince H.

No one familiar with this foil?????

I had an opportunity to buy this ramfoil over the winter with the idea of giving kiteboarding a try while on holiday this summer. I think it's a 2000 or 2001 version with a strange bar shaped somewhat like a bicycle handlebar. I am planning to start with handles for control and then switch to a 65cm airrush bar that I sometimes use on my 3m Radsail and 5.5m Ekko Alpha. Any tips on flying this particular kite in general and on the water specifically would be much appreciated. Thanks, Vince H. Ontario, Canada
