  2. I see the pictures were taken in Jersey - when were you there? free bump.....
  3. I also use the Liquid Force ones and can recommend them.
  4. I have the recoil 136/41, it is a good alrounder + light wind board, but if it is just a light winder you want, then look for the bigger boards.
  5. I would say you should be looking to get a couple of hundred for her. If the bar is a PL then a little more. Hope that helps and good luck - I have one and like it lots!!
  6. Also because a certain Mr. Hadlow is using them under foot..... Check out the Austria pics on this link...... http://www.kiteblogs.com/component/option,com_jd-wp/ Have to admit they are damn comfortable!!
  7. I can recommend the all you can eat Chinese Buffets in Corralejo!!
  8. How much are you thinking of as i don't have anything newer to offer you?
  9. Duck stance - both feet, slightly toes out About 10'-15' each binding (+10' and-10') try and keep both the same angle for true twin tip riding Cheers
  10. I would have prefered to see no board leash attached. He has a helper so doesn't need to launch on the beach with the board attached, his helper can sort that out if the launch goes ok - that is just an attached missile waiting to home in on his body - luckily it never got airbourne. That was definitely a stupid call to attach your board to you! He definitely is overpowered for the conditions.
  11. just make sure the safety can play out the kite length to allow the arc to fan out when you release to safety. safety line on the front lines works best with arcs. I have used an old cabrinha bar for ages with no problems - just re-did the safety. cheers
  12. Hi Gary - bar arrived yesterday - very well packaged thanks. Just one question - do you have the little "safety leash attachment for spreader bars?" It is a small velcro thing you wrap around your spreader bar then attach the leash to. I see that it wasn't in your picture, it also wasn't in the package, so I assume you don't have it. I just thought I would ask. Cheers - Mark
  13. Nothing to do with the teaching - more to do with IKO as an organisation - that is why I won't be renewing!

    Arcs?

Having used both, but not any new bow or sle, I would like to comment. ARCs have the best gust absorbtion out there and are totally user-friendly.Ageed they are not as responsive as LEIs. However for both land and water use ARCs are a great choice. As has been stated auto-zenith is a great feature when you are learning. Also having no bladders means no pumping and no puncture repairing. If it is a first depowerable kite then I would recommend a Venom 13. It is the sweetest kite in the range and you will always find a use for it even if you then go LEIs in the future. I would not suggest that you buy anything bigger than that, as ARCs are not the greatest low wind kites. If you are on a tight bidget, then buy a cheap LEI - they are cheaper than ARCs for their age. All water based kites will re-launch. ARCs are no harder than any other 4 line LEI, probably easier. Maybe not as easy as a 5th line kite or a bow but can't comment on that. Hope that helps - just my two pennies worth. P.S. I always thought ARCs were weird until I used one. Every kite has + and - sides.
  15. Alright I will stick my neck out.......I am an IKO Instructor and won't be renewing. Yes it is a way for them to make money, but the infrastructure is small and the rules are not specific enough. I was hoping to learn something new, but my 15+ years of kiting experience meant that I was safer than they are! I learnt nothing new about teaching, nothing kite specific and my views on safety were stronger than theirs! If you know scube diving, then I am also a PADI instructor. PADI is much better set up with better materials than IKO, but it also is a marketing machine. PADI I stay with, IKO I won't. Maybe in a few years IKO will be worth it, but right now I don't believe it is. Only if you want to work with a shop would I recommend anyone doing it. I am sure others will have completely different views, but experience of kites counts more than a piece of paper from IKO, in my opinion.
  16. Will do mate!
  17. Cheers Gary.
  18. My bank is showing funds have left.
  19. care to define sensible offers? At least give us a ball park figure to work from!
  20. Spend the money on good trousers, as if you are snowkiting you will be spending time on your arse! You want waterproof!! Layers are the best - you don't have to spend a lot if you have the room, pack a t-shirt a day to use as a base layer. They will smell!! A long sleeve fleece under your jacket is good, but you do tend to get hotter snowkiting, more than just downhill boarding - skiing is always colder! Otherwise good gloves and goggles are recommended, as well as a helmet! Nothing worse than freezing fingers and not being able to see!
  21. Cheque is in the post. Oh and have a bump!
  22. Yup, same here in South Finland, had it in October but all gone now and waiting for more!
  23. It won't make too much of a problem, but remember that you are still travelling forwards, so feet pointing in the direction of travel is more comfortable. I would still recommend at least +10 duck for each binding - the knee argument is for normal downhill riding - which snowkiting is not! I recommend +15, but experiment and use whatever you find the most comfortable!
  24. Ok I will take the 04 Bar - have pmed you re payment
