  1. hi popeye I made a Vmax about six years ago and yes we have met at Cleethorpes how is the new bug working out. It seems like I will have to put a back rest in just to give it a little bit more rigid does a back rest give you this
  2. hi philpig in answer to your question I did as much has possible like cut the angles for the Swan neck measured and cut the forks and most of the brackets but I cannot well so I had to hand it over but the biggest job was definitely the polishing what a nightmare. And in answer to afro the foot pegs are in the shared. It seems like everybody is naming their bugs so I have chosen to call it the Scorpion and I may decide to get some graphics made up
  3. Well it is just about finish apart from a bit more polishing and a back rest. So I thought would let you guys see it to see what you think of it (so be gentle with me)
  4. thanks rayens
  5. hi I'm after People's opinion on high wind kites something in the region of 2 to 3 m for when it gets up to 30 to 35 mph I want something that is rock solid on onshore or offshore winds. I have a 2.5 m razor but things can get a little hearing when you're doing 35 mph+ and the tips tuck so I'm looking for something a little bit more forgiving. Thanks Stuart
  6. Hello all I was just wandering what people have got on their MP3 players because I'm flying to San Antonio Bay on Saturday and I was after some new music to download for holiday. You know the kind of thing you need some smooth tunes and some banging beats for how the mode takes you so if you know of any new call sounds can you please tell me so I can start downloading. thanks Stuart

  11. Their is a very good chance I will be there on Sunday the forecast is still locking good for then and I will get some batteries charged up for my gps this weekend so I can see what distance I do and maximum speed. And out of interest will there be anybody that will have any nitro that I may be able to scrounge a fly of
  12. hi Mr big I was there today I was in a Libra truck flying a blue and white PKD 4.5 m I got to borrow my friends gps for one run because my batteries was flat in my thoughts got a speed of 31.8 mph I also got to sit in a Tornado for the first time. It was a spot on day it's in a long time since I had a day like today (onshore) but I cannot wait to get my stainless beast finished brain on the summer onshore thanks Stuart
  13. I see little trailers that are empty bouncing around so Would it be possible to take some of the air out of the tyres (not make them flat) but just enough so that they soak up some of the potholes in the road. And somebody spoke about the bearings I think that because there is very little weight being put through them they should happily run at 50 or 60 mph then again I may be wrong
  14. Their is the matter of parking when you have a trailer on car parking spaces are only made to take the length of a car and the trailer just sticks out I thought this way it would just be a case of disconnecting a bracket on to the forks and off you go. There is also the case of people trying to borrow your trailer as you walk off on to the beach. It's just an idea
  15. This might be a silly question but I'm going to ask it anyway is possible to have a bracket made to fit a tow bar that will allow you to lift the front wheel of your buggy off the ground by three or four inches and changing the back wheels for road legal ones (some sort of road going tires like what you get on trailers) and possibly fitting a bracket to take a light board. I know that it would possibly bounce around a bit at speed but with the wheels being right at the back would it stop it from snaking. I know some of you are going to say just by a trailer it isn't as simple as that yes I have the space in the front garden but I cannot get it down the side of the house and don't want to leave it in the front. So if you know if this is possible can you let me know thanks stu
  16. . I am driving up to Newcastle at the beginning of the week my daughter lives in Wallsend and I was wondering if there is any near by beaches that is worth a look. So if you can help can you drop me a PM. Thanks Stuart
  17. So does anybody know where I can get my hands on some second-hand ones I know that boater has a 2 m 3 m and 5 m for sale but it would be nice to have a choice. And does anybody know a sponsored pilot that may have a set for sale. Would consider any size apart from a 6 m and an 8 m which I already own. Any any help would be useful and appreciated
  18. Sorry to interrupts but getting back to my question I take it that on the rm+ to improve performance there has to be a downside and does this mean that it loses some of its stability
  19. Hello all I'm just wandering about people's opinion on something I was thinking about today why I was flying my 6m JoJo. How do JoJo stack up against the new ozone yakuza or even the old razor pound for pound in a straight line which would come out on top and I know there's lots of things to take into consideration such as pilot ability weight and probably a lot more things. I know people say about how they tangle and fallout of the sky. But to be honest I have a 6m and an 8m I would say that I find them more stable than the razor. For stability I would compare them to a pkd century. But getting back to the question identical pilots identical bug's in a straight line which would your money be on
  20. Can somebody give me some advice about getting a pilot's licence I am thinking of entering one or two supercup this year to get a taste of racing but I understand that I have to get a licence before I can race so were can I go to get one I live on the east coast near Cleethorpes so does anybody know if there is anywhere local to me if not is there any instructors that visits Cleethorpes beach on the odd occasion any help would be appreciated

    axle size

Hello all I am in the process of making my own stainlesssteel bug and was wandering what people's opinion was on what size axle is the best for a race bug I know that a lot of people use a 1.5m axle but is there any reason why you couldn't use a 1.7m axle would this not give you more stability when you are well powered up I realise that it makes your turning circle bigger but is that such a big deal when it comes to racing so if any of you race can shed some light on this for me that would be cool
