  1. Thanks for all the tips, I have been poping Ibuprofen as recommended on the packet. I will go see a physio as I would like to aid my recovery. Luckily its only really sore when I stretch up or raise my hands above shoulder height. It doesnt take long for the buggying muscles to wither away.
  2. I have somehow managed to tear some stomach muscles, dont ask how I dont know. Just wondering has anybody done anything similar and how long it takes to get back to full buggying strength? The Doc said 4 to 8 weeks, its been 3 weeks and very little change. I havent buggied for neary two months due to various injuries . Just wondering if I am not cut out for it.
  3. I only weigh 10 stone so hopefully loads wont be to much. I went out yesterday at a local park in really turbulent gusty winds and had great fun. Out today in my buggy and after setting up my 4.5m bullet as there was no wind all rapidly changed and the wind picked up. I was then reduced to my 3m buster and finally ended up with the 1.5m blade . The wind map says its now 18 to 30 mph. It was absolutely superb , handled a treat. I even perfected a new move when I lost which I will hearby patant. Its called the high speed reverse spin over the back exit drag with faceplant into a puddle. So much pain.... Kite killers would have helped but unfortunetly they were in the bag on my back. Decided to call it a day and drive slowly home.
  4. I fancy going buggying tomorrow but it looks like its going to be very windy . 18mph + The smallest kite I have is a 1.5m bullet . Excluding my ability to fly and hold on what would you say is the max wind speed for it? I wont go if its way too windy but just need a estimate. TA

    Ekko

I have a 2.2 Ekko alpha, it was my fist kite. I like it , my one was a good starter kite as it has vents in the trailing edge for when I repeatidly nose dived it into the ground. Appears to be well made as I have given it a real hard time without trouble and it also pulls really well. It was commented it flew a bit like a race kite. Have you looked at http://www.racekites.com/reviews/kite_gin2.asp
  6. Thanks for that . I have looked on the map and it looks like a big beach. Ta.
  7. I am going to Edinburgh tomorrow and want to introduce my mate to kiting . Can anyone recommend any good sites? I thought about the beach near Leith. Wind looks very good , maybe a bit strong for learning though.

    Bullet Lines?

As has been mentioned before but if something fails whilst using it fo the purpose its designed for its worth getting trading standards involved. Have a look at this link, its for Scotland http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/cgi-bin/calitem.cgi?file=ADV0043-0100.txt Was a bit scared to read that when lines break they can whip back and cut you, have I read that correct or did you fall over?
  9. The nuts are nylock items meaning the plastic bits in the nuts provide the locking properties so they wont vibrate loose. Strictly speaking if you can run them down with by hand they are knackered. But hey as long as the threads are not damaged and they dont come loose they are fine. Check them every time you are out ( dont over torque them though) if they go loose replace them . If you clean the bolt and it has no damage it fine to continue in use, replace the copperslip when refitting.
  10. Thanks Gents, I will use all your ideas.
  11. I am just putting together my first Flexifoil buggy. I was wondering if it was worth putting something like wax oil or dinatrol corrosion inhibiter in the tubes. I know it is made of stainless but thought it may help keep the sea water away. Any other advice gratefully accepted. Thanks.
  12. I dont understand how this could happen. Unless the guy made a conscious decision to hit the woman. If you accidently hit someone in your car you dont get done with manslaughter. The council gave permision for the activity to take place so surely they must be responsible to a degree.

    Buggy Helmet

After an accident nobody says I wish I wasnt wearing a helmet. Had motorbike smash a few years back and got knocked out. Dont know what I hit my head off but it was effin hard. If I hadnt had a well fitting good quality helmet on I wouldnt be typing this and boring you to death.
  14. Thanks for all your input guys, I may just save up and by a brand spanker. mmmmmm
  15. I am hoping to buy a second hand early flexifoil buggy in the very near future, it will be my first buggy. Any tips on what to specificly look for with a buggy?
