    Must be a record

Aren't we all!! My problem these days is that even when an easterly comes along I cant get out of the house because of the kids. Gone are the days when I could go out in the buggy every other night after work, I'm lucky if I get out one a month and even then thats only when there's a race on - outwith race season it just does not happen any more. Changed days!! Ped

All most 3 weeks since the last post - better get that sorted How's everyone doing by the way? Ped
  7. Plummet - has you ever had an issue of you falling out of the buggy and the buggy carrying on out of control? I can see the benifits of this if you are riding on a deserted beach as like you say your bodies taking much less punishment but I'm not sure I'd want to give this a go on a busy beach just in case something went wrong. Balancing my Buggy

I'm not convinced changing the tyre pressure would make much of a difference as the tyre pressure needs to be changed depending on how firm / soft / ripply the beach is on the day - also changing the wheels wouldn't make a difference unless I mismatch then ie - eurotrax on the rear and BF lite on the front as the balance of the buggy would be the same regardless of matching wheel type. I think I am going to have to play with the seat position a bit and see if that helps at all as I'm thinking that if I lengthen the downtube again but bring the seat as far forward as I can this may have the desired effect of shifting my weight further forward without me having to loose weight off the rear of the buggy. Ped:)
  10. Its been a while since I was last on KC so thought I'd stick a post up and see if the wealth of knowledge is still available I was competing in the 4 Nations buggy racing event at Hoylake last week and noticed that the rear of my buggy was washing out quite badly when powered up, this has happened ever since I got my Apexx but I have always managed to correct the balance by leaning forward in my buggy and grabbing the swan neck as this makes the buggy straighten up and it keeps a straighter line - I've just lived with this with due to the beach I regularly race on not being that big and therefore it not being to much of an issue. However during the 4 Nations the majority of the courses set had a lap length of 5 miles and with the 3 lap race rule it got rather uncomfortable sitting doubled over in the buggy trying to wring as much speed as possible out of it!! Previously I have always assumed that the back end was to lite and have compensated for this by lengthening the buggy and moving the seat position but after considering what me doubling myself over and shifting my weight forward in the buggy was doing I've come to realise I've had this problem back to front all along. Once home I took a trip to Argos and bought myself 3 sets of cheap bathroom scales and placed the buggy on these and started taking some readings - when empty the buggy has a 3 - 4 kg biased to the front wheel but when I sit my 15 stone into it the rear of the buggy is close to 20 kg heavier than the front. By leaning forward though my tow point moves 40mm forward and I am shifting approx 4kg of weight (half a stone) onto the front wheel which as mentioned above greatly improves the balance of the buggy. I have managed to change my footpeg position and shorten my downtube which will compensate for the moving of the tow point but I am unsure on what I need to do to compensate for the weight issue as riding along in the buggy at 40 mph doubled over is not the most comfortable!!! My question is - do I just need to lighten the rear of the buggy by 4kg ie by buying a carbon axle for it:rolleyes: or will I also need to add additional weight to the buggy??? Id rather not add any weight if it can be helped. Cheers in advance. Ped

    Wtf!!!!!

Personally I think its probably got something to do with this - "He named them the Hero Buggy currently in the USA and the Hero Buggy II (the buggy your buying) currently in the UK in honour of those very brave people who gave their lives to help others, the fallen hero’s."
