  1. Holyrood Park is okay, it is the site that I use most - mainly because it is nearest to me. Unfortunately, being in the city the wind is often gusty. As it says on the Wind Things website, the site needs some northerly in the wind so that Authur's Seat (hill along the south side of the field) doesn't get in the way.
  2. I got a scrub board bag back in September last year from TOTEK, which fits the Silver Reef, (9" tyres). I think that the board bags had only just arrived at that time, but they are around! Matt
  3. Have started to do a bit of downhilling with my Scrub Silver Reef, but am having problems with the dreaded speed-wobble; anyone got any hints of how to minimise it? (Haven't found anything already on the forums specific to downhilling.) Once I get to around twenty mph it gets to the stage of just hanging on for dear life. Have considered tightening the trunks some more, but this is going to limit the steering, or should i be steering more by sliding the back out rather than carving turns? The problem is I tend to be going down paths flanked by rough ground, so don't really have the space for carving. Any suggestions much appreciated. Matt
  4. Just to add my thoughts for what they're worth. Have to agree with the other posts: Kheo pads don't seem to offer a huge amount of protection. Have used the Kheo pads in the past, but now have a set of pads from halfords, which I find fit more securely (they don't just use velcro straps, also have neoprene backs), additionally they have lots of padding so are able to deal with that jump when you crash onto your knees. I think a set of knee pads is about £30, pretty expensive but in my opinion well worth it. I think that they are marketed for BMX riders. They are made by sixtone or something, can't remember exactly.
  5. Just about to buy my first board but still stuck on the 'do I go kite specific' question. Obviously the advantage of not going this route is in having a board to downhill on when the wind is rubbish, however in my experiance life doesn't always pan out as planned. I'm interested in getting some feeback from the forum about how often people tend go downhilling when the wind is bad for kiting. Although I know the answers will depend on people's circumstances I'm interested in finding out if many people actually downhill as a next best. I'm currently tending towards the Flexdeck, which seems to have a number of fans! But I suppose every board will have different pros and cons. Matt
  6. Thanks for the reply Greenman.
  7. Greenman, Which new Scrub board have you got that doesn't fit into the scrub bag? I'm just about the buy a Silver Reef and Scrub bag, am I likely to find the board won't fit? Matt
