  1. Ive got a 4.0 Blade II. Bought it a coupla years ago, flew it once, scared the sh*t out of me!! Foolishly i thought, hey, its only a kite... kids toy.. i'll get the biggest i can afford.... big mistake!! Set it up at a disused aerodrome in Surrey, caught a gust, had never flown before and whoooooosh... dragged off into the distance... had to let go of the kite to stop! I then went out and bought a 2.2 Symphony just to get an idea of how a kite works and even the Symphony took me for a drag down the local beach this week (Pevensey Bay - mind you im only 10st)... it was ok whilst it was above my head but as soon as i bought it down i really felt the pull. Only when i felt comfortable with the 'tiddler' did i venture out with the blade... but only in a light wind, with lots of open space!! Read the advice on these pages, make your own decisions.... my advice... start small, learn (get lessons maybe)... build the skill.... enjoy........ safely!
  2. No probs with the deck, but i have found my tyres are wearing rather quickley! Bought a new tyre a few months ago and the wall has almost worn right through 9just like the one i replaced!) have had to use a tubeless kit to patch it from the inside..
  3. I love my dirtsurfer! best thing i ever did! Went straight in with the Flexideck (couldnt see the point of getting an entry model and upgrading) and ive never looked back! Still do a bit of 4 wheeling with my MBS Comp16 pro down at Priory farm in Redhill, but a dirtsurfer on the south downs... what a rush! just pad up and enjoy!! Tone -x-

    body armour

Im into mountain boarding (MBS Comp16 pro) and Dirtsurfing (Flexideck) For less intense days (general grass riding) i wear a no name armour top (from ebay) a lid, grit-x padded shorts and dainese knee/shin gaurds. On the more extreme days (Dirtsurfing, free-riding, courses, tarmac etc..) i wear the dainese full shuttle pro kit (top/bottom all in one) grit-x padded shorts, fleshgear rip-proof trousers, 661 hand/wrist guards and a pro-tec full face lid The dainese isnt as hot as you'd think and dissipates moisture very well (just wear a t-shirt underneath.. gets smelly when sweaty!) Tony
  6. i dont want to start an arguement but these forums are for sharing new experiences/ideas. Ok, so most of you wont agree with my postings but i'll try most things once, even if it ends up 'only once' ! you're born to die! if it happens early so be it! dont ya think that it would be cool just to go and try a new experience instead of sitting on your butt wondering what if! dont just say it... do it!! ----------------------------------------- WARNING If you are reading this then this warning is for you. Every word read of this useless fine print is another second off your life. Don't you have other things to do? Is your life so empty that you honestly can't think of a better way to spend these moments? Or are you so impressed with authority that you give respect and credence to all whom claim it? Do you read everything you're supposed to read? Do you think everything you're supposed to think? Buy what you're told you should want? Get out of your apartment. Meet a member of the opposite sex. Stop the excessive shopping. Quit your job. Start a fight. Prove you're alive. If you don't claim your humanity you will become a statistic. You have been warned .
  7. life on the edge my friend! never felt like trying a new experience!

  10. good choice! was gusting 36mph today (average was 25ish) so i thought id be sensible and only took the 4m blade with me (left the 6.4 in the car) staked myself to the ground, rope round me harness and chocks away! what a ride and what a rush! hopefully be the same tomorrow! its currently gusting 53mph here but its dark! roll on the morrow!! -x-
  11. blade 3 bar it is then! thanks for taking the time! tone -x-
  12. Can i get bar for a blade ii, 4.0m (with safety?) any thoughts... have seen them on bigger kites but never on a 4.0... Any suggestions on a bar size/make.. ta
  13. MMMMmmmm Exit......... not!
  14. NO PAIN NO GAIN! RIDE HARD OR DONT RIDE AT ALL!
  15. Ive got Flexideck. Increased ground clearance makes it a little harder to skate than the GP's but once you get yourself going its mad! Have been 4 wheel boarding for a few years and got the dirtsufer for the extra rush. Dangerously faster than 4 wheeled boards so pad up well (seriously). Less wheel wobble the faster you go, and the rear disc brake works great even in the wet. As for kiting with it, i found it kinda hard without having some one to support you standing up on the board whilst you ready the kite for launch,(it doesnt stand up on its own cos its only got 2 wheels!!), however , in saying that im sure with practice it can be achieved! check out the MKYD .COM website, loadsa dirtsurfing pics, great message board, tips, hints. If you're unsure on shelling out for a new one, go second hand, you can give it a bash, if you like it then great , if not at least you've tried it and there'll always be someone to take it off your hands!! beware, once you've been bitten by the dirtsufing bug there's no going back.............. 4 wheels are for wimps!!
