  1. "They" say the same about Busters too.. Had a 4m out last night in about 15-20mph of wind and it was lifting me all over the place (even took me off my feet when it was parked at the zenith). Very floaty landings as well for a "small" kite.
  2. Croydon Aerodrome site (Purley - just on the A23)
  3. Guys/girls, Other than a Blade, what kites are good for producing loads of lift? I've got a Buster 4m which is excellent for traction but I want something that'll get 12 1/2 stone off the ground with ease. Cost is a consideration..
  4. When you get the handles out of the bag, unwind a little way and then stand between the left and right lines as you unwind. With the naff Buster lines you need to make sure they're wound onto the handles VERY tightly. I've got one so I know!
  5. The foolproof method: Leave the kite in the bag. Take out the handles and unwind about 30cm of line. Work out which are the left lines and which are the right. Now the clever bit - STAND BETWEEN THE LEFT AND RIGHT SETS OF LINES... Now walk upwind, unwinding the line (holding the handles in the same hand they were wound on with. When you get to the end of the line you will be standing between the left and right lines (NO TWISTS!!!). Put a kite stake in the ground and rest the handles on it (Pulling on the brakes). Walk back to the kite and take it out of the bag. Fly! When you pack it up do everything in reverse - fold the bridle lines into the kite and fold it up tight and neat. Go back and grab your handles and wind the line on nice and tight and neat. When you get to the bag, slide the handles in neatly on top of the kite, ready to take out again. I've NEVER had a problem using this method. A little bit of time spent making sure everything is packed REALLY neatly saves a lot of time when you come to set up!!!
  6. Really like the croc-clips on the new Bullet and Blade III. Want to add some to my Buster 4m but scared of stitching them/glueing them to the fabric. Anyone made croc clips and can advise?
  7. PKD Buster 4m.. Good for pretty much everything and it never luffs..
  8. Terrible news.. Condolences to anyone reading who may have known the guy..
  9. Let the cells fill with air and then gently place it back on the ground but at a slight angle to the wind.. You should find it'll then sit there waiting for you to very gently tug it to face the wind.. Take a couple of slow steps back with your handles near the ground.. WWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSH! Job's a good un.

  11. Ah.. But it's all about speed, my man!
  12. Wind at the weekend (esp friday) was awesome.. Managed to fluke a six foot jump with just a super 10 and then spent the rest of the weekend hobbling around with a sprained ankle!!
  13. Take the kite right over to one side and nice and high, then dive bomb it down in the centre of the wind and wang it up straight into the air once you feel it really tugging. Jump and keep your eyes on the kite! Worth making sure your landing area is nice and clear before you attempt it though!!
