  1. firstly, get well soon, and i hope this doesnt put you off mountain boarding secondly, this highlights a point i always try and make to people, but always get laughed at when i do. In my opinion, snowboard bindings are far safer than freeflexes and other strap bindings, sure, of it gets rough there's no escape, but you know where the boards gonna be when you bail, and thats firmly attached to your feet, not half attached half out meaning you can twist your leg in ways it shouldnt be twisting, and not flying off your feet completely, hitting you in other places (like the back of your head!!!). But i can see that straps are far better for kite boarding, and i wouldnt even consider using my nosno for kite boarding!! Another piece of advice i would give is, unless you are doing freestyle, where trainers are useful to allow you to bone out tricks, wear walking boots or some footware which comes over your ankle so stops it from twisting when you bail, my walking boots have defiantly saved my ankles a few times.
  2. i doubt that any of the board bags will take frame boards.......but i dunno bout the scrub board bag, i think the most likely explaination is it is a 2002 bag designed before the 2003 boards came out......talk to wherever you brought it, see if you can exchange it for the 2003 bag (not sure if it has come out yet, but if it hasnt, it should do soon)
  3. was that down west wittering?? I didnt try the 10.5 Blade III's (thought that a decent wind, 10.5m kite and lil me - 7 stone was not good combination) but it looked awsome!!!!! Gonna be a v popular kite
  4. thats nothing, u want a flexi deck, try a nosno!!!!!!!
  5. im no expert, but for, the advice ive been given, and bearing in mind i am the same weight as u, i would go for a pkd uster or firebee (either 3 or 4m) it will b better for a beginner and save u a lot of money, letting u get a mountain board, or save some money for if u want a bigger kite after a while etc. im sure one of teh people who really know what they're talking about can reply better than me, but just passing on what ive been told
  6. dont know much bout mountain boarding with a kite, but downhill rules!!! so any of u lot with a board but no wind one day, find ur self a nice hill and find out for yourself!!! (padding is a very very very very very good idea!!!)
  7. where was that??? looks strangly like haredown? if it was, did u see a guy pull of a flip there?? (sorry just trying to work out if my friend landed a flip, or whether his bro is just pulling my leg!!)
  8. wat is trick of the eyes web address, sounds like teh pace to go to get kites???
  9. he he, i know the people who r gonna be on it...........they r soembarresed coz they will look like such tits!!! Its only mountain boarding, and very simple at that, the people doing it r great boarders, its just XChange only wanted it too be very simple stuff Still good for a laugh though
  10. NoSno's RULE!!!! Probably not for Kite ATB, but for normal mountain boarding there is no better board (aorry, a bit off topic, but very very true!!!)
  11. put very simply, there is a sensor atacted to a fixed point by ur wheel, and another attached to the wheel which roates with the wheel, once every rotation, these sensors go past each other, and this is fed to the speedo, if it knows the diameter of u wheel, and the time it takes ofr one rotation (it gets this from the sensors going past each other) then it is easy to work out the spped that teh wheel is turning, so the speed that you are going hope that made sense
  12. im not entirley sure, try posting a message on the message board at http://www.atbsports.co.uk - this is a mountain board mesage board, so you will be able to get some really good advice, im no expert on what frame boards are like with kites, but i know that they are not good for mountain boarding compared to unicab designs
  13. i am a monutain boarder who is now starting to cross over into kites. I would not recommend a frame board (board with metal bar running along the underside of the deck)...they are a very old design, which has now almost completly been replaced by the new unicab design (no bar). For a beginner on the large size, i would suggest a Scrub or Kheo, as both are not too expnsive and good for kite boarding and mountain boarding - dont be fooled by them not having a bar, they will take a lot of weight and punishment, and will be FAR better than a frame board, for everything from cruising to freestyle.
